Hi Ive been feeling a little under the weather today, so much so I chucked up the breakfast I had. I was wondering should I still be counting the calories I had as Im sure I didnt vomit the whole lot?

This is a good question. I'm curious as to what others think as well. I always log them since you can't really tell how much your body absorbed before the purge. I always go by the same rule that nurses do with meds. If they give a patient meds and then the patient vomits, they still log that med and the patient must wait until the next time that they would receive the meds.

Seriously if you are vomiting I would think the last thing you should be worried about is how many calories you may or may not have ingested.

Worry more about why you're sick - flu? pregnancy? something else? and staying hydrated. Once you're 100% you can start counting calories again.

If you think this is the flu (or pregnancy - this works for both) try staying on a clear liquid diet for 24 hours, then the BRAT diet. Clear liquids is just how it sounds. Ginger tea, ginger ale, mint tea, broth, 7Up, cranberry juice, popsicles, any liquid you can see through (beer and vodka don't count!). Once you can hold that down, change to the BRAT diet.

    Bananas
    Rice
    Applesauce
    Toast (no butter or margarine)

Get well soon :flowerforyou: . Being sick is no fun at all!

Yesterday I threw up breakfast within 5 minutes of eating it so before I closed out at the end of the night I deleted it.

It wouldn't have made a difference really calorie wise though

Hehe craftywitch I am definately not preggers, god help me if I was my childbearing days are long behind me I hope! :noway: Ive tackled some 'dry' food n seem to have kept that down so will take it easy for the rest of the day. I probably wont want much later but the thought crossed my mind if I should make a miraculous recovery would I be able to pinch some of the calories I lost. Geez dieting really messes with ur head n all u can think about is food, even if ur not really well enough to eat any!
    Thanks for the advice xxx
