When I asked aboutexercises for a flat belly ppl responded that there are no exercises toi spot reduce yet say to lift. Why?

  • You can't spot reduce fat, but if you already have very little fat, lifting and doing core exercises will give you more muscle definition and sometimes help tighten up the skin in that area and make it look a little flatter/more defined.

Because compound lifting works all your muscles in a good way, and it will help build your core strength. Then, when your body decides it's finally okay with reducing some of the abdominal fat, you will have a lovely strong abdomen under it.

You can't spot-reduce or target-reduce -- your body burns the fat where and when it will, eating in a deficit will help with that. By doing good lifting, you are strengthening your muscles so they look rockin' when the fat isn't there. Way more beneficial for your whole body than doing a million situps.

I don't know but lifting weights has been the best thing that I've ever done for giving me a flat stomach. Within a month or so I could already see a difference... so could my boyfriend. My stomach was flatter/harder, and there was less of a pooch. I did things like squats and deadlifts, that works your core. (as well as other body parts obviously)

When you eat at a deficit you lose water, fat, and muscle. When you lift heavy in said deficit you are combating that muscle loss, so when you lose weight/size it's mostly just fat and water.

I found straight leg raises to be the best lower ab exercise combined with a lower but not ridiculously low sugar intake ( I have to have a little treat after dinner every day ! ) but this exercise made the little pouch go I've now a completely flat stomach ... I recently started dead lifting and can see a massive improvement in definition :)
