Fell down the stairs - what can I do while my butt heals?

Yep, title says it all. I fell down the stairs like a complete putz. My right cheek took the brunt of it. ;) My right arm is pretty bruised up, as well. Nothing broken or sprained, thankfully!

Any tips on what I can do to attempt to maintain a fitness regime while I heal up? I can't even sit without cringing, so crunches are out! Even running hurts, bah. Was thinking maybe elliptical? Any other good thing to try? I feel like if I just sit around and do nothing all week, I'll fall back into old habits and just give up on this whole "get in shape" thing. I don't want to lose my momentum!

Is your arm able to move? If so, then something upper-body may be good. Personally, I like squat punches but if your lower body hurts, then don't get as low. Then you just punch away. I've heard it is good for cardio. Good luck!

Did the same thing not long ago and the only things I can recommend are the same as others. Walking or if you have the ability aqua walking

I don't really have any suggestions but I can sympathize! Except I fractured my tailbone when I fell (new socks on wood stairs) and it took 6-8 months to actually heal and I still can't do crunches. If I sit wrong, it flares up... thank your lucky stars you're just bruised! :flowerforyou:

Yes, so lucky it's just bruises. I don't have access to aqua-fit or a pool of any kind in my area. We're lobbying to get SOMETHING built, but I'm sure I'll be healed by the time that's done. ;)

I'll go with walking, and some arm/upper body exercises this week. My arms are weak and sad and could use some extra help, anyway. ;)
