The Perfect diet

Hey Guys

Any advise, I'm a 27 year old female weighing 9 stone and 5ft 3 and want to get down to 8 stone.

I train at gym 6days doing cardio and 2 days with personal trainer doing weights and strength training.

My diet throughout the week tends to be.

Morning
Brevita Cereal bar/ 1 Bolied egg and 2 brown toast

Snack Protein Drink

Lunch
2 slices of brown bread with quorn chicken
1 yogurt plus 1 apple

Tea
Grilled Masala Fish with Brown Rice or Tandoori Roti and Chicken Tikka

Sometime i eat another Brevita cereal bar on a eve which is my weakness but i am 100% think it's time for a change.

Any guys that can give me advise on diet etc would be great thanks because really wanna shift the extra weight :)

With only 14 lb. to lose, set your goal to .5 lb. per week and be patient.

Log everything you eat & drink accurately & honestly. Weigh your food. Use the MFP protein & fiber goals as minimums, and ignore fat & carbs. Give it two weeks. If you aren't losing, eat back half your exercise calories.

    So true!
Get rid of those Brevita cereal bars! They are just a bunch of sugars...
and maybe replace the bread with a greens, celery, cucumber, tomatoes, eggplant, broccoli etc.
Veggies are more important than you could ever expect really especially spinach, many of them contain all the vitamins and minerals you would otherwise have to supplement :P
  • That's a loaded question to ask here! There are so many different opinions on what "good" or "bad" food is! Don't listen! Run away!

Seriously though, the perfect diet is eating whatever you like to eat and simultaneously meeting your goals:)

Agree with the above posters - cut right down on the grain based carbs and sugary cereal snacks and replace with vegetables. The brown rice is good if you are excersising but definately more veggie based carbs such as sweet potato, broccoli, spinach and such.

Spoken like a true mom ;) I agree! Read the guide to sexy pants link as well. Weigh everything.

How many calories does that up to be? How many carbs / fat / protein? And does it fit into your goals?

No meal plan can be labeled healthy/unhealthy without seeing the whole picture. I'll go against the grain and say that I don't mind the sugars and carbs in your diet as long as you're getting enough nutrients from other sources. It's okay to include carbs in your diet as long as you're still getting enough protein and fat. From the information you've given is it's unclear whether or not you are.

Veggies are a great source of micronutrients. I'll agree that any diet should include some.
