Just looking for some info on protein powders. Will this help me lose weight faster to gain muscle or is it a bad idea?

Protein powders are just a convenient way to supplement your protein intake. Protein intake will help you retain lean mass during weight loss. I think they're useful, but I prefer to chew my protein when possible. I use optimum's natural whey, which has minimal ingredients .

    my homeopath told me about

    http://www.oneworldwheyprotein.com/

she gave me a sample of vanilla, chocolate and strawberry...22 yr old loved the chocolate I loved the vanilla but it's 150.00 for a big bucket not sure how long it will last as it's like smoking all depends on how much you use.....see but the eyes that see know everything ....NOT...sorry just ranting...it was the tastiest and the most protein I have come up with and I am a gold member at GNC ....whopeee lol...I think with everything in moderation as everyone is out there selling and peddling what ever they can...I don't use this everyday just got rid of the last today it was promasil athlete formula so there you go just be careful and I have even seen recipes that are calling for whey protein in the mix...not sure if I agree but even on my clean eating one ...where she swears no processed and now ....sorry but if it dosent grow or GMO ,it is processed in some way...I was thinking of getting the protein bars but for 12 bars 34 something not bloody likely ...I can make my own ....and so can you google them just make sure your the ratio carb to protein is 1:1 or pretty close and you can't fail....Protein even if it isn't animal helps keep you full for longer and it helps to build muscle...the rest is just food or energy to feed the muscle...and don't listen to me just keep reading and know that everything isn't in stone...once you get settled logging and weighing food (which I have never done but probably should as I am on a plateau, but have lost 30 pound since sept 2013)...my affirmation is it took you 20 yrs to get to everything that you are today weight included so it isn't a magic pill so it will take sometime and don't get discouraged if the scale dosent' show a loss because your measuring tape usually does so that mean's more lean muscle mass to burn more fat that is why protein is so important and it also weighs more than fat but it will burn fat easier and faster ....take you time and just keep reading that is what I have been doing...lots of great info out there but take most of it with a grain of salt .....you know what works best for your body...what stresses you and what calms you...I vote for calmness lol....I can on forever can't I lol

here are some websites I use and the best of luck to you

i like Tera's Whey. Minimal ingredients, comes in organic. It packs a lot of protein without a lot of calories. I use it to rev up my protein intake which is very important for me :)
