Tomorrow I'm going to go on a hike, and I need to eat something light beforehand. Any suggestions? Tips? It's going to be a pretty large one, the peak is over 6,000ft.

I would eat something like some scrambled egg whites and toast then take some fruit with me. Oranges are always so great while hiking!0

Okay, sounds good to me. I love eggs...lol and fruit!!0

Complex carbs for energy plus some protein. Protein after too to help your muscles. Don't forget the water!0

I never remember what a complex carb is...?0

Nevermind, googled it!0 -
Yeah, eggs are a good source of protein and you may like to add some oatmeal for extra energy. It will stick to your ribs and hold your hunger longer. Special K protein bars in your pocket will also help.
A that altitud the oxygen concentration is much lower, so make sure that you take and drink a lot of water. Have fun and be safe!0 -

Okay that's doable. I'm planning on having string cheese, hummus and quinoa in the car for afterwards. The egg n oatmeal I already have...Yay!0 -

Stay away from anything Special K, even their bars! Special K flakes are only moderately better than eating a bowl of sugary cereal, despite how healthy it claims to be.0 -

I can't have gluten anyways, and Special K is on my no-no list...
I'm also trying to add more whole foods.0
