Swimming Stopwatch

Hi

Can anyone recommend a good stopwatch that I could use for swimming? Nice cheap and cheerful that will just do the job? All I want it to do really is monitor how long it takes to do each lap. I don't need it to necessarily sync to anything, I can keep my own record....

Any recommendations anyone or ideas that I could look into? I've googled a few but I would like to hear what MFP have to say also?

Thanks in advance :-)

Honestly I just use the pace clock on the wall. Hopefully your pool has a really large one. If not, I would really suggest they get one.

I'm not sure you can find a cheap waterproof watch to be honest.

    Hi!!

Thanks for replying.. Yeah they have a huge clock on the wall, one hand red, one hand blue and by the time I do 1 lap and come back, I can never remember which hand was where when I started!! hahahaa I'm useless aren't I haha... Maybe I will have to spend a little cash then, I'll wait and see if anyone else has any suggestion but thank you so much for replying :-))

I use my timex stopwatch, I got one that allows you to tap to start the next lap.

I also looked at getting the Garmin swim watch, since it can be used for the pool and outdoor swimming (I have 2 races this summer)

I think you can also buy waterproof/water resistant stop watches at sport stores.

I've just been using my HRM watch and using it to time my laps as the digital format is easy to see.

I love swimming, i lost my first 40lbs in the water without any other type of cardio or strength training, and I just bought this great watch to help me loose the rest. Its called "Swimmovate pool mate" It counts laps, calories, distance, stroke style, time and more. I was more concerned with the amount of laps and calorie tracking but ya its like $60 on amazon :)

    Thanks for the replies everyone!

Yesterday I bought a Timex Lap watch from Argos. It was £27.99 plus a little extra for an extended gaurentee. I'm going to test it out today so wish me luck!!
