I just got a waffle maker for my birthday and I've been using it and love it, only problem is the only one's I've been making are the bisquick from the box kind, and those are really high in calories as most waffles are, so I need your still yummy but low in calorie waffle recipes............................... If there is such a thing! Thanks

I don't really have any low calorie recipes, but my kids and I have been using it for everything! We've made Pillsbury cinnamon buns, boxed corn muffins and even potato hasbrowns in it...so think outside of the box - you will be surprised at what you can make in a fraction of the time!

I'll have to try that recipe!

@dkwi04 thanks for the idea, I had never thought of using it for anything else but that would be such a time saver though!!

We love to make these vegan waffles. One of my kids had an egg allergy that they have since outgrown, but I still like to make waffles this way sometimes. This recipe can be used for pancakes as well. Sometimes I will put a little bit of oil into the mix to make the waffles a little bit crispier. You also need to cook them a little bit longer to help crisp them up too.

    Vegan Waffles

    1/2 cup white flour
    1/2 cup whole wheat flour
    2 tbsp baking powder
    1/4 tsp salt
    1 cup soy milk
    1/2 cup applesauce
    1 tsp vanilla

We also like to add chocolate chips sometimes too! HTH!!

I use this pancake recipe and it turns into a great waffle. I dont think I have made a non-banana pancake/waffle in about 3 years...

I always sub the nutmeg for either cinnamon+nutmeg or pumpkin pie spice. I also use almond milk instead of skim if I have it. My 4yo loves these!

Look up "Better homes and gardens overnight waffles". This is my favorite recipe. You can leave te batte in the fridge and anyone can make a fresh one in minutes. It is also made with yeast, so they taste like Belgium waffles. There is a variation for adding corn meal that is really good. I used to cut up some hot dog and add it when my son was little. Tastes like corn dog.
