Newbie

Well trying something new b/ obviously what I have tried before hasn't worked. Needing to loose 95 pounds is a daunting task!

I want to do this for me. I want to stop holding back because of my size. I want my kids to see me in pictures instead of hiding behind the other side of the camera. I have control and success in every other aspect of my life and achieved amazing things with one exception...my weight. Tried Jenny Craig before getting married and it worked! Sadly I gained it and more back once I went to eating regular food and then came pregnancy.

We just moved across the country again to a really really small mountain town and all these people know me as is a fat mom. Not huge on exercise as my size is a hindrance. Tried doing a four mile hike including just over 1,000 stairs each day 3x a week and my knees were killing me. Only lasted a month doing that. Also LOVE getting things accomplished I can step back from and see what I did immediately. With that in mind I am working out by doing "chores" since I feel real visual accomplishment with that. Today I pulled out some hedges, planted new ones, mulched the gardens, and scrubbed the steps to the house.

Ready to change that and conquer this obesity.

Good for you to joining MFP, I am a newbie too, and I am already loving MFP, I feel like everyone is watching what I eat, and waiting for me to log some exercise, even though all the support is online, its still amazing! Feel free to add me if you're looking for friends!
  • Noticed after dinner I will still have 700 calories, wish I could roll over them for another day...LOL

I hope my motivation with this continues! Day two has been a success so far. Thank you for your support!

You can roll them over. Some people work on a deficit for the week. Some people fast 2 or 3 days a week and eat normally the other days, making up their weekly deficit in that way. There are different ways you can do it.

    Good Luck.

You are taking the right steps by using this site and reaching out to others. I have been on for several years but have only lost 5 of the 30lbs I need to lose. I am now reaching out to others on this site to motivate and help hold each other accountable. Feel free to add me as a friend..

Hi Lisa Michelle and welcome! We are all here to encourage and support. You don't need Jenny Craig or Weight Watchers - really! What you need is a sensible eating plan, the determination to exercise every single day, and some support! Watching your nutrition on MFP really helps! It helped me to see that I was not eating balanced - meaning I wasn't getting near enough protein and was eating too much fat. Once I balanced that and added exercise I began to see results. Don't push yourself to try to run when you haven't taken baby steps yet! I started out my exercise routine (and it is now a routine) by simply walking - I could only walk for 20 minutes when I started, but I did it and you can too! I tackled my eating plan and exercise routine on a weekly basis - meaning that I would review it at the end of the week and celebrate the successes no matter how small.

I am half way to my goal weight - I will get there! My motivation for you for today is this:

"The body you get by achieving your fitness goals is as important as the person you become by achieving your goals."

You will reach your goal. I believe in you!
