Disney Theme Park Food Options

My family and I are going to Disney today, and I just wonder if anyone knows if Disney parks serve anything healthy than their usual over size portion food, and candy/junk food.

I think every park (in Florida at least) has a place that sells salads and wraps. For sides and snacks there are plenty of fruits and veggies everywhere. If you're worried about portion size, remember, just because they give you tons of food...doesn't mean you have to eat it all!
  • I know that I will be on my feet all day noon - midnight, but I am just very cautious in what I eat even when active. I won't even be able to know the nutrition information as Disney says they have no information on nutrition from their foods. So, I guess I can have a cheat day. :P
    Thank you bunches !

    No problem, have fun!!
  • Oh I will. I can finally ride some rides with my daughter this time, and it be the last time in years that we will go. You know they have up the tickets to $100 a person!

They charge 100 bucks for each of the different disney parks now. Have fun but if you want to eat healthy look for the grilled foods. Grilled meats along with a veggie isnt bad. Stay away from sauces also.Dont worry about calories too much especially since you will be standing for a long time. Read somewhere you burn about 60 calories an hour standing.

I wouldn't worry too much about calories while you're visiting the park. You're going to be doing a lot of walking and quite a bit of just standing. Just go enjoy!

We spent a week at Disney over Thanksgiving, I was able to find many healthier options, but I also brought my own snacks. So when my kids wanted an ice cream break ,or a popcorn/pretzel break, etc...I could just go in my bag and have my snack. Also, you will be doing a ton of walking, so I wouldn't worry too much. I ate a huge Turkey Leg (see profile pic!). Totally worth the sodium and calorie intake that day!!!! :)

If you go to Animal Kindgom, there is a food stand that is vegetarian, they have hummus and veggies, falafel, salads, etc...

    have a great time!!!

My family and I LOVE Disney World (even though I'm 20 and an only lol...) so this post is going to be rather lengthy. Oh Disney, you are so sadly expensive....:ohwell:

My family and I stayed in an Art of Animation Suite that had a microwave, mini fridge, sink and several cabinets. I'm sure many other on-property resorts have set-ups like this, and I know that MANY of the off-property resorts have full-kitchens or galley style kitchens. I suggest bringing your own breakfast foods: this will save you money (disney food is $$$) and calories. Cereal, milk, yogurt, fruit, juice, bread with peanut butter, granola bars, etc. You can also pack your own lunches for the parks in the same manner (cold cuts, veggies, etc). Enjoy a nice dinner at whatever resort/park you wish.

When we were there we noticed that they've jumped on the health food wagon and have started offering a lot of prepacked fruits and veggies at their snack stands. Yummy nosh!

Don't forget that you are walking! Relax, enjoy the rides, and do an extra lap around each park. This will give you great people watching and exercise. Animal Kingdom is a great walking park (It is my favorite). There are two different walking animal trails. Many people run through this park and do the rides only. Do the trails! (They are towards the back of the park, one is in Asia, one is in Africa). Enjoy the exercise and watching the animals.

Enjoy yourself! Eat delicious foods but practice mindfulness. Stop when you are full. Don't feel compelled to eat it all because of the prices. You'll enjoy it more if you don't feel guilty.
