strategy for weekends!

What's your strategy for the weekends/parties/going out? I have a very active social life which generally involves happy hours, parties (drinks, nachos, chicken wings, pizza!) and it has become my downfall! What do you do when there's no healthy options?

Alcohol wise...if I know I am going to drink more than I will have left in my calories, I tend to burn a little extra during the day so I can have a few more. Or you can always go over and just make another day that week a little under your limit.
As far as saying no to food. Take only a little bit. I was out with coworkers and everyone got appetizers. I had one mozzarella stick with no sauce, 4 chips with a little bit of the spinach dip, and then ordered a side salad for myself to fill me up longer.
It's all about moderation.0 -
Bring a healthy option as far as food goes if it's at someone's house or be assertive and order a healthy option for yourself or to share while out, and do your best to fit the alcohol into your day.
Try to have mixed drinks with diet sodas - rum and vodka are both relatively low calorie alcohols, I think it's like 60 for a serving or something.
Rum with diet coke is great, and vodka with diet sprite is nummy.
Or a gin and tonic if you don't like the taste of sweet sodas. Vodka and tonic. Whatever.0 -

Agree with the alcohol choices. It depends on the brand of vodka, I'm cheap and just go with Smirnoff...but I mix it with Club Soda and a lime ... 90 calories a drink (1.5 shots per drink)0 -
Thanks for the great advice! I just need to stick with the vodka soda's from now on (even though I really enjoy wine and margaritas much more! )0

If you really want wine, have your wine once a week c:

Calories in 1 (1.5 oz) shot of 80 proof gin/vodka/rum/whiskey: 97
Calories in 12 fl oz of tonic water: 124 calories
Gin and tonic is NOT low calorie.
Rum/Vodka with diet soda will only set you back 97 calories, unless you're getting a flavored vodka/rum, which can have more calories.
Red wine varies, but can range from 105-150 calories for a 5 oz glass. I find that I drink red wine much slower than I would drink a rum diet, so it's my go to.
As for food, I never go hungry to a party or bar. Eat some filling veggies beforehand and then ask yourself how many bites will make you truly enjoy the event. Most eating at social events is habitual anyway- you see everyone reaching for nachos, so you reach for nachos. What if, instead of reaching again and again you make yourself one little plate of food and nibble on it?0 -

Yeah that's my bad, I always use club soda instead of tonic. Or diet tonic or something. I honestly always forget which is which in name xD0 -
My go to...Vodka/Water...and I have about 6 flavors of Mio in my purse. haha!0

At my house we always make Vodka/Water/Mio drinks and we call them Skinny *****es LOL they are so delicious and the only calories are in the vodka. Make sure that you measure and record your vodka though because it can add up. By measuring and recording my drinks I have also noticed that I dont drink as much and then am not hungover the next day. (When I am hungover I tend to eat very poorly)0

Sounds like people really like Mio...I have never tried. What are your favorite flavors?0
