When did you reach your weight loss plateau?

I'm just wondering how long it took you to reach a weight loss plateau after you started dieting. I've been losing weight for about a month and I'm already seeing less weight loss.

I don't believe in plateaus as it relates to weight loss, so never. If you're in a deficit you're going to lose weight, it's just that simple. It's a non-linear proposition, so some months you'll lose a bunch, others you won't lose any, but that's just the way it is, the body loses weight in random ways.

As long as you're losing weight you're not at a plateau. A true plateau is when you completely stop losing weight over several weeks. Like the last poster said, weight loss is very non-linear and you normally lose the more weight at once in the first couple of weeks and then it naturally dies down so it sounds like you're doing just fine!

I've never had a plateau. I think the most I saw non weight loss is about a week or two, which doesn't constitute a plateau.

If you just started a month ago, chances are you saw a bigger than normal loss in the first week or two, as a result of losing water weight. That's normal. Also, in general, weight loss isn't linear. Some weeks you'll lose more than others.

I didn't have any plateaux during my weight loss phase.

    this so this..

plateaus are a nice way of saying I am at maintenance because I am not logging accurately.

I was at a point where I didn't lose much like 1 lb for 2 weeks ... I was pretty upset thought it was a "plateau"

    Then 2 weeks later I lost 3.

Sometimes patience is the answer to a plateau.

Along with not logging accurately as others have mentioned.

I never had one...I thought I had one about 3-4 months in, but it turns out that I had just gotten a little lazy with a few things and wasn't weighing and logging things consistently to I was eating a little more than I thought. I had a pretty modest deficit, so that little bit of fudging pretty much wiped it out.

Keep in mind that initial losses are usually larger than what they will normally be. You lose a lot of water in the beginning...after that, it slows way down. Weight loss takes time...it's pretty slow and it's not linear; you will have weeks with bigger losses, weeks with smaller losses, weeks with no loss, and even weeks with some gain due to water retention and waste in your system.
