Housework and vacuuming

I'm sure I saw somewhere that vacuuming and housework had a 'loss of calories' value. Where do I find that section IF it exists

Unless its really vigorous cleaning I wouldn't bother logging it.
But I think it's in the database as cleaning?0 -
it's Cleaning, in the Cardio section
(there's light cleaning and heavy cleaning... I guess vacuuming is light while cleaning the windows is heavy? )0 -
I log cleaning if I'm doing it continuously for 45 minutes or more. And PP is right, it's under Cardio as "cleaning" with 2 options: light and heavy. Light would be every day housework, heavy is if you have to move furniture, do alot of laundry (especially if you have to take it to the cleaners).0

Everyone should set their calories to non active then add every calorie burn and consume the calories given and earned every day. It is best that way. Really it is. I am losing at a steady rate and it resets my base calories as I lose. It is awesome. The more calories you burn, the more you consume.0

Do you count walking around in stores too? I've been wondering if I should include those too, because when I go shopping, it's usually an all day thing.0 -

Why not log brushing your teeth or combing your hair?
Unless you live in a pig sty and have never cleaned your house before this is something that you've always done and yet you still gained weight. Logging it now doesn't suddenly miraculously make it exercise and a new valuable part of your healthier lifestyle.
Sorry for sounding off ish but I see this so often and can only think it's a way of trying to justify that extra biscuit or mars bar, the things that got us in this mess in the first place.0 -
If I don't have a sustained heart rate of at least 125 bpm, I don't count it as cardio. This is my rule, so take it for what it's worth. To me the point of logging cardio is to ensure that you eat back the burned calories. I've done my share of vacuuming and I really can't see having a bigger dinner because I vacuumed the house. Again... just my opinion. Good Luck!0

I use a Kirby made in the 1990's in a three story townhouse....I also have 3 kids and 2 dogs. I count the vacuuming. Anyone want to challenge that, I welcome you to come vacuum with my Kirby in my house. I don't vacuum often, my husband usually does (and he doesn't have nearly as much weight to lose as I do).0
