All veggie diet?

Well, I've been eating pretty clean and following my MFP calorie diary... .but I just feel like I may be eating the wrong food....
I started on the scale at 163 pounds, then this week... I see that I am weighing 162.2 and sometimes it says 162.4, 162.8... I haven't seen 163 in a while..
Now, I know results does not come overnight. And, I have seen a slight change in my upper chest area.
But I wanted to know if I could go on a veggie, and fruit diet and cranberry juice diet if it fits my calorie intake rate... without my body going into starvation mode??? I work out 2x a day.... and also walk to the park and back twice which the park is a mile away.
So would this diet work without body going into starvation mode?

Honestly, just eat the calories MFP gives you as a goal. Log your exercise, eat at least 50%-80% of those calories burned on top of your goal for the day.
If you are still having trouble losing weight after 4 weeks, weigh all of your food before you eat it, you are probably just eating more than you think.
You also do not need to exercise twice a day to lose weight.
Eating vegetables and drinking cranberry juice has nothing to do with starvation mode. It's all about calories, you're making this overly complex. Where is the protein, are you planning on eating tofu, beans, and legumes? this sounds like a good way to burn through your lean muscle mass, not fat.0 -
No......just no.
Weight fluctuates. If you're new to exercise you will retain water, which can make the fluctuations bigger.
Are you eating back exercise calories? If so, how are you estimating your burn?
You only joined this month....how long have you been at it?0 -
"I know results don't come overnight" and the rest of the post do not match together.
If you want to do the veggie BS, just do it. But dont combine it with a X2 workouts a day. Just stay home, chill, (smoke some weed) and do nothing. But do not expect faster results just with veggies.
I talk from experience here, nothing else I mean, the approach will be too harsh and useless.0 -
Don't do that. Carbs, fat and protein are all necessary for life. You can't just cut out two of them (fat and protein) and expect to be healthy. Eat at a consistent deficit for 4 weeks, then reevaluate.0

Fruits & Veggies are good for you.
But so are fats, protein, etc.
You need a healthy balance.0 -
you need complete nutrition...protein and dietary fat is kind of essential to that.0

You can get your proteins with a vegan diet and lose weight. Meat is not necessary to survive or to lose weight. Also I would educate myself with professionals rather than hearing opinions. I am working towards becoming a vegan little by little, my only problem is chicken and turkey. I like them both. I am going vegan for ideology reasons. Check blogs from people like Derek Tresize who is a competitive vegan bodybuilder, personal trainer and nutritionist from Richmond, Virginia. There are a lot of alternatives to stay healthy and all veggies is one of them.0

Thanks for the replies... I am not trying to seem dingy or too anxious. However, I am just new to all of this... and just want to make sure I wasn't doing anything wrong because I do not have a trainer... and browsing the net all day just confuses me because people say different things.... the only reason why I am asking so many question.0

Vegans don't just eat "veggies, fruit and cranberry juice." If the OP does this, she's going to get sick. She can follow a balanced vegan diet plan and be fine, but that's not what she asked about.0

I thought she used those 3 as an example. If the plan is to just eat that with no legumes and variation then is a recipe for disaster. Not healthy and soon or later you are going to get tired and go back to your old habits.0

I'm vegetarian and if I don't get enough protein I feel weak and woozy. You can't just eat fruit, veggies, and drink cranberry juice. Eat well and in a way you can sustain.0

Of course, you can switch to a vegetarian or vegan diet if you like, but I really recommend doing your research if you do and making sure you're getting the needed fats, protein, and vitamins into your diet. However, this may or may not help with your weight loss. I have all the respect in the world for those who go veggie/vegan for ethical reasons, but it's not a magic solution. You can lose or gain on a veggie diet just like you can lose or gain on an omnivore diet.
From your post history I see that you're having a lot of anxiety over your food choices. You might do better if you have your doctor refer you to a registered dietitian who can answer your questions and suggest meal plans for you. Just a thought.0 -
Patience. It's been 4 days. This is going to take some time.0

All veggies or vegetarian? If just veggies and no protein or fats your calories will be too low more than likely everything in moderation is kep you need a good source of protein. Exercise does increase water retention by muscles working, repairing and rebuilding so that is an increase its not a I eat x and loose exactly x every week.
If you want vegetarian thats ok many do it but you need to understand it first so you get the nutrients your body needs and you need to do the research so it tastes good its not just steam or boil veggies and thats it.
See someone like a nutricianist at gym if you want an outside opinion on diet.
But NO to Veggies and cranberry juice bad idea!!!!!0
