I had the same question just about 10 minutes ago so I googled bodyweight training and lots of great articles popped up.0

Body weight training is when you do training with your body (like a push up). Weight training is when you do training with weights (like with a bar bell or dumb bell). IMHO, your body will respond immediately, your mind may need quicker results.0

What program are you doing?
What are the intended results?
Strength training is any exercises you do to gain strength. It can be in the form of body weight, weights, resistence bands, machines, etc.
Convict conditioning
Nerdfitness
YAYOG
Strength unbound
Are a few good places to start gathering information.0 -

It's a good start and you will see results fairly quickly....
The difference between the two...hmmm well both are resistence training and depending on the weight lifting you are doing it typically will be a progressive load (meaning you add weight each workout) where as bodyweight you don't.
I started with Bodyweight then moved to weight lifting...it was a good transition0 -

I plan on doing a couple of routines I found on the internet with push ups, sit ups, and pendulum etc.. and going 10-30 depending on the workout for 2 rounds.
My indended results is to basically gain muscle and loss fat. So when the excess fat is gone there wont be a lot of sagging.0 -
YAYOG is the worst fitness book I ever read in my life. It was full of so much garbage that I go out of my way to slam it anytime I'm given the opportunity. Please, buy every copy and burn them.0
