I started MFP last month and it's going okay, I just need to motivate myself to exercise more. I have a very stressful job and when I get home, I'm mentally exhausted, just wiped out most nights. This was so much easier when I was younger.
I don't log my workouts because I don't want to eat back the calories. Knowing myself, I'd probably eat something bad during the day, telling myself I'll work out when I get home, and then I won't. I don't even come close to my carb allowance, but I think that's okay, since some people here also do Atkins. I did Atkins for a while and it was actually working well until I had to rehome my appendix last year. Due to re-hospitalization from complications, I couldn't go to the gym for 10 weeks, so I gained back what I had lost. Then I asked a friend how she lost so much weight (80+ pounds) and she directed me here. I've read so many good ideas for recipes here already.
People who have lost a lot of weight help with my motivation, but people who are just starting out and have a lot to lose inspire me even more. I would like to lose more than 22 pounds, but reaching that goal would be great for now.

I'm in Bakersfield! Hi! I also work a stressful job and sometimes have long hours. I struggle with working out vs. watching tv to unwind. So what I've been doing is I rest for about an hour after I get home from work, then when Extra comes on TV at 6:30pm, I setup my laptop in front of the tv and I workout while I watch Extra. I'm currently following an at-home workout program called FOCUS T25 that is only 25 minutes a day, so my workout is done before Extra is over! I'm energized after my workout and feel great the rest of the night! Anyways, I'd love to connect with you more and maybe we can support and motivate each other? Send me a friend request if interested!! Best of luck to you.0
