I don't have a lot of weight to lose and I work out fairly regularly, however, I have this layer of fat around my lower belly that I just cannot get rid of no matter what I do. I have been at it for a long time. It's flab. I can grab it with both hands. Any ideas of how to firm it up? Please help. I hate it!!!

No way to spot reduce. You will just have to eat right and do cardio.0

I had the same problem and then I stopped drinking diet soda and it went away. I believe the aspertame in the soda can cause belly bloat. Are you drinking diet soda or anything with alot of aspertame?0

I agree...you can't spot reduce fat loss. Make sure you're incorporating strength training in with your cardio. The more muscle you have the more calories your body will burn. Just keep at it. The last bit is always the hardest and takes the longest.0 -

I'm 48 and have lost a few pounds and although I have noticed a difference in my lower belly, it's been gradual. It stinks that we lose it in our face/chest first! I'd like to lose another 10 pounds but have my fingers crossed that it will come off the belly! Feels like we are fighting a battle with our hormones, wanting to store fat there! I've started running more (about 2-3 miles a day) and I think it's helping. Good Luck!!I had the same problem and then I stopped drinking diet soda and it went away. Good to know. I've cut way back on regular soda because of this but didn't know it also applies to diet sodas as well...Thanks0 -
Calorie deficit and strength training.

I use Splenda in my coffee every morning. Rarely drink soda of any kind. I use Almond milk in my coffee.
Could it be the Splenda? I have heard artificial sweeteners can cause it.
Any thoughts??0
