Check for other listings. Sometimes things are misspelled or you could be too specific with your search criteria.

I'm too lazy to enter a new food. So a serving size for my coffee creamer is 2 teaspoons and next to it, it says (5g). I weigh about 15 grams of it and log it in the database as 3 servings of 2 teaspoons. Sure it requires some math conversion, but that's easier and less time consuming for me.

type in whatever it is and "usda" after it. that should bring the item up in grams.

Are you using the app? If so do the search in recent foods not my foods because that's for creating your own listing, most things are available you just select the serving size and it should give you your options

I weigh my food as well. I think that most of the foods that are MFP sourced have the weight option. User sourced is limited. If it starts with an asterisk (*) then it was entered by a user, without one is was entered by MFP. I choose those ones for meat and vegetables. If I have 95g of chicken, I'll choose the 100g gram unit and enter .95

This. The only problem is that you need the package so you know how many grams are in a serving... I've had to fish stuff out of the trash because of it :p
