MFP suggesting to consume less calories than my BMR

My BMR is a bit less than 2000 ( 32 years, 5ft 10, 222 lbs, male ). I want to loose 2 pounds per week. For this, MFP is suggesting that the max calories I can take is around 1400. Does this make sense? I've been reading on the forums and everyone says it's not wise to consume less than the BMR. I must be doing something wrong

Its definitely dangerous to eat below the BMR. That is basically what you need in order to meet the requirements for cell production, immune health and your body to work while simply laying in bed all day. My guess is that it expects you to exercise above the BMR so that you get the maybe 500 additional calories per day and then eat your BMR to lose 500 calories per day.0
