Training- Where to begin?

Hi,

I joined mfp primarily to lose around 70lbs of excess weight. After being here for a few weeks I've been inspired by they guys and gals who train a lot (weights etc) to transform there bodies.

My aim is still to lose the weight- I DON'T want to stay the same size and shape but just turn it to muscle. Id like to lose the weight and just develop some attractive looking definition. How do I go about starting this? Is it better to wait until I'm closer to my goal weight?

At the moment I only really do cardio.

Join group Eat, Train, Progress. Read the posts to learn tons of awesome stuff. Pretty much do anything that Sarauk2sf recommends and you are good to go...

You will avoid a lot of bro science and random opinions in Eat train Progress. Sara and Sidesteel are quite good.

You can use the search option in the menu below the blue banner on top of screen to search for different topics quickly.

    Cheers!

This group is also great for women who want to lift...don't let the title fool you there are lots of different workouts being reported in there. There is a good summary for SL 5x5 in there as well.

NROLFW, SS and SL 5x5 among others.

    Start now...

I'd suggest doing a lifting program such as "New Rules of Lifting for Women" along with cardio.
