I have a really hard time staying within my sugar range. Everything else is always within the right range and my carbs, fat, and protein percentages are always very close to what they're supposed to be too. Does anyone else have this problem? I don't really know how to fix it.

My sugar intake is always much higher than they recommend. As long as my others are ok and I'm not over my calories I don't really mind!0

Where you get your calories from may not matter from a weight-loss/calorie deficit perspective. However, it does matter if you are concerned about nutrition. When a large portion of calories come from sugar, you may be missing out on important nutrients. Are you choosing foods that have nutritional benefit, or are you drinking sugary sodas (for example)?
I'd recommend you try to eat foods high in vitamins and minerals before going for sweets. And if you happen to have some calories to spare, there's nothing wrong with enjoying dessert too.0 -
I actually do really well with getting all of the food groups in and getting all the nutrients. It seems like the most of my sugar comes from Greek yogurt and fruit. I only drink water. If I have dessert it's skinny cow which has less sugar than the fruit and other things to begin with so that's not the problem either. Would you say if all my other categories are good it's not a big deal?0

I eat and apple and a handful of grapes, and I'm over my sugar. I don't think there's a way around it for me.0

You're fine. Unless, of course, you have diabetes or some other sort of insulin/blood sugar sensitivity.0

If they are coming from dairy and fruit, I would not be too worried. If they are coming from mostly junk food or added sugar then you might want to cut back. You can also try to choose lower sugar fruits like berries vs. bananas.
When I am trying, I am able to keep within sugar pretty easily, but only because I eat very little dairy and more vegetables than fruit. Before that it was tough.0 -
From what I've read, you shouldn't be consuming more than 50g of ADDED sugars per day, so if most of your sugar comes from fruits, you should be just fine. I'm usually close to my sugar intake every day, which, according to mfp is 80g, but I have apples during my breaks at work, and I make smoothies with a lot of fruit. As far as sugar goes, it makes a huge difference where it comes from.0

80 grams?! Mine is always around 30-40? Today I burned 524 calories working out, and I'm allotted 1390 calories of food, and my sugar goal was 39g... I could definitely stay within 80. What's everyone else's goals?0

Sugar is sugar -- your body can't tell the difference between white cane sugar, brown sugar, fructose, etc.... the term "added" doesn't really mean anything. All sugar comes from plants. Just because it's "naturally occurring" doesn't make it healthy.0 -
Don't worry about sugar. (unless you're diabetic) It won't have an affect on your weight loss.0
