Staying Motivated tips

HI everyone. I started my weight loss journey in July 2013. I was 235lbs at a young age of 16 and i already started growing heart issues and had a cholesterol of 280. Obesity has run in my family to a point that its normal to be overweight. At January 2014 i reached a weight of 182 pounds and felt much better. My heart issues went away. But ever since then i slowly gained weight and now im at 190. I need tips to help me keep going and not stop again and maintain the weight. Im too young to be throwing my health away. Im 17 now and my goal weight is 165.

    Hello Micheal,
I am a personal trainer who at one time was at 200 pounds. I would suggest looking into a macronutrient plan. It will tell you how manny calories you can have per meal and a breakdown of the carbs, protein, and fats you should be consuming. I was introduced to this method by a very inspiring training I met at a gym I worked at. This is what kept me focused and accountable. After the birth of my children I was up to 200 pounds it took years to get that weight off. But it is something you can do get focused write everything down very important to keep a food journal. This way you can go back and reflect on the bad days and thegood day. You can look back and remember the days that you felt great and the days you did not. I will bet on the days you felt great are the days you stayed on your meal plan. Also take one step at a time do not get over welmed but keep focused and disiplined...I know you can do it

Hi Michael. I have been a yo-yo dieter all my life. My weight ballooned - I was out of control. Two things have made all the difference in the world for me: (1) learning that I needed to MOVE my body every single day. Some days I workout really hard for 60 - 90 minutes, but then the next day I may just walk for 30 minutes. (2) using MFP has helped more than I can tell you! The pure fact that I have to log every single thing that goes into my mouth has made me accountable to myself - and there's where the change happened. I would suggest that you make sure that you are moving your body every day in some way, and be sure that you are being honest with yourself about logging in your food intake - including portion sizes! Measure that food! Boy was that a shock to me when I started measuring food - I had no idea what a "portion" was! Try these tips - sure have helped me. Good luck! Keep going forward - don't look back.

Think of it as a lifestyle change not a weight loss journey. You cannot go back to old eating habits ever!! So you need to make healthy replacement habits and stay the course.
