Question about short bouts of exercise

I read conflicting info on how good short bouts of exercise are for weight loss. Anyone have experience with this? Or have read anything seriously addressing this? I find that I don't have an hour at a time very often to exercise so I walk for 10 min at a time several times a day.... etc. I really want to burn calories and improve muscle tone... Thoughts?

Ive read different things. 10 or 15 minutes of brisk walk after meals is what some recommended.
Then there is this stuff.

But honestly, all the little stuff add up if you really dont have time. Like standing instead of sitting at work or at home. Anything is better than nothing.0 -
You can absolutely split up your exercise into smaller chunks if it helps. I've read some studies recommending no less than 10 minutes at a time, since it can take a while to get your heart rate up, but honestly the kind of exercise you can do consistently is the best kind0
