Kidney diet

I have just been put on the transplant list. My doctor has diagnosed me with stage 4 renal failure. The diet they have just put me on is ridiculous. Low protein, low phosphorus, and low sodium. And because of the anti-phospholipid syndrome, I also have to limit severely any foods high in vitamin K. A dietician with the transplant team will hopefully give me a meal plan since everything I eat now is on the list of things I should not eat.

Has anyone here had a kidney transplant, or is in kidney failure and must follow this diet? It would really help if I could see a meal plan. Right now, I can see what I can and can't eat, but I'd just like to see a sample meal plan.

Oh hon I'm sorry to hear that.

I can't help I'm afraid and you might struggle to find anyone on this site who can. Be careful about any advice given since this diet is so important for you.

There are however some forums specific to your needs that might be able to answer your questions.

I wish you the best and a quick transplant and speedy recovery. :flowerforyou:

You should follow exactly what your doctor tells you. You don't want to make yourself sicker by deciding to go against his advice, he gave you that diet for a reason.

That's why I'm asking here. A renal diet with those restrictions is almost impossible. I would love to see the diary of someone who has to follow this diet.
