Staying motivated

I find I am having trouble staying motivated. I have had a couple of bad eating day and I keep saying "tomorrow". What do you all do to get you over these humps? I have lost over 30 pounds so far and am working out 5-6 days a week. I just need some inspiration! Thanks!!

    Wow! 30 pounds is great!
Just keep on keeping on-we ALL have bad days.
The ones who make it to goal are the ones who never give up.

Motivation is fleeting. Build habits around eating and exercising that will promote good health. The habits will kick in when your brain is telling you you're lost motivation.

My motivation is to never forget the alternative. If we don't keep working toward better health and fitness, what else is there? Going back to being overweight, unhealthy, having no energy, a body weak and in pain and a life full of what-ifs and if-only's?

Yes, motivation swings up and down, and we all have tough days, even tough weeks or months, but we have no choice but to keep fighting the fight. Giving up is not an option :)

Honestly, my pictures of myself help a lot. I look at my "before my healthy lifestyle change" photos. The biggest I've ever been. Pity party for 15 seconds. Then my "now photos". Look how well I have done! Go me! *pat on the back*. Okay, then sometimes it's time for the "before I got really big" pictures. I have this picture of me in a one piece from HS. I looked good! I know if I keep working, I can slowly get back to that.

I know there are a lot of people out there who eat better and work out more than me. But who cares? I'm doing this for me, so ya know what, I give myself a gold star sometimes. Yep, in my head. It sounds dumb, but seriously, sometimes internal rewards are enough. :)

Now if you are more of an external reward person, do something nice for yourself every 5-10 pounds. Me, I have that too. Every 5 lbs lost, I buy myself a small $2 My Little Pony figure. Again, silly. But there is a reason why that stuff works for kids. And for every medium milestone 920 lbs for me) I go get my nails done, or something like that. ^_^
