So I bought some of the little laughing cow cheese wedges last night thinking that I can put them on crackers for a snack. Instead I decided since they are nice and soft, to put it on my bagle this morning. Love it! I have the sun dried tomato and herb one. And so much better as far as calories than cream cheese. Just wanted to put that out there.

BTW my bagel is home made so I'm thinking it might not be as bad as a regular bagel. Haven't really checked that out though.

I do the same thing only i buy either sara lee or peperidge farm mini bagels. (100-110 cals/bagel)

    How do you make yours?
  • Gecho I have an awesome book called Artisian Bread in 5 Minutes a Day. It is awesome!! Basically you mix up the dough, which contains bread flour, salt, yeast, sugar and water, and then let that raise for two hours. Then I put it in the fridge for about 2 hours or overnight because it's easier to handle when cold. When you're ready to make it you cut off 3oz piece from the main amount, shape them and let them rest. Once they've rested you put a hole in the middle and boil them in water for about 5 minutes and then bake them for 25. It's really not that hard and I figured out the calories to be 144 per bagel. Which when I was just looking is a lot less than the other ones. I'm single so they won't get eaten quickly at my house, but I kept out just enough for this week and tossed the rest in the feezer.

I love that book. And anyone could make bread with it. And it's more than just you regular white/wheat bread. I've made bagels, pita, naan, challah, brioche and babka from this book as well and there are dozens of other recipes to look at too. Plus I know exactly what's in it. They have a new one that uses all whole grains in the breads that I would like to buy.
