What should I do!!

I have been busting my but working out and eating right, but I'm not quite seeing the results that I've been wanting. I know it's a slow process but a times I feel totally discouraged that I can't do it anymore. I've been 145-150 for a few years now and my goal is to be around 120-25. I have lost 4lbs in the past 3 weeks, but I seems like I should be shedding more weight off especially if I'm going to the gym 2x a day (I know mussel weighs more than fat). I don't know if I'm doing something wrong! Someone help! (: Thanks!

Hight 5'7
Current Weight 141
Goal 120-125

You're food diary is not open. Are you weighing and tracking all you eat to make sure you maintain a calorie deficit?

Also - muscle doesn't weigh more than fat. A pound is a pound is a pound. Muscle is however, more dense than fat.

4 pounds in 3 weeks is pretty reasonable loss considering the amount of weight you want to lose and the fact that you're already in the normal BMI range. Keep doing what you're doing.
  • How do I open it? Sorry I'm new to this(:
I'm bit exactly sure I have my calorie intake at 1350 and I typically burn 250-300 cals a day. I'm just struggling. Maybe I'm not taking in enough calories? And I think 4lbs is pretty good too but I just seems like I should have lost more than that. I do how ever look a lot slimmer (the pooch area), however my side (love handles) are still rather big I measure about 34" around my BellyButton area.

You don't have a whole lot to lose.
Honestly you've probably set up a pretty aggressive goal. With only like 20 lbs to lose, your goal should be .5 or 1 lb a week.
    Eat more food.
    Realize it will take time.
    Be patient.
    Keep at it.

Oh and you can't spot reduce.
You may want to also start lifting heavy things (look into strength training program - Starting Strength, New Rules of LIfting for Women or Strong Lifts 5x5)
  • Yeah I think that's what I'm going to do. I think I'll change my intake to 1500? And I guess tuff it out and keep at the gym and just wait.
  • I have been doing strength training before my cardio but I like to make sure my cardio is my key. I heard that you have to lose the fat first so you then can build up your mussels. So I've been doing minimal.

I will disagree with the person that told you that. Lifting has "remade" my body in ways I could not have imagined. If you want to continue to lose the last of your fat and retain as much lean body mass as you can - lift heavy and start yesterday. Do your cardio on your off weight days.

Sounds like you have a plan. Good luck!

and I'm sorry this isn't meant to be snarky but my OCD can't take it...Muscle = what's in your body. Mussel is a food. :flowerforyou:
  • Okay so I've just revamped my calorie intake to 1570 I think that should help. So instead of doing strength and cardio in the same day I should do them on separate days? I need help strutting up a plan as well as setting up a meal planner.

The best thing to do is pick a program that will work for you. Stronglifts is where I started. You'll need a gym that has a bench, barbells, plates and a squat rack. You can google the plan on line. There are numerous videos on learning form. Other programs were mentioned above. Most are 3 - 4 day a week lift programs.

If you have access to a trainer, maybe get some help to start. As far as a meal planner? Eat the foods you like, just stay in your calorie deficit and try to hit your macros (protein, fat, carbs) every day.

sometimes you really just need to do a 180 with one aspect of your life, that will wake your body up! Maybe its incorporating a protein shake, or eating more veggies, or cutting out sliced bread after noon, or saying no soda. Little thing that will add up. If you want to loose it fast, it won't last. The little changed will lead to a slower loss, but a more permanent one.
