I'm struggling with buying the same thing over and over and over again at the grociery store! What's some unique products that you guys buy consistently that keep you healthy and happy? (I'm a vegetarian )

Whole wheat 100 calorie flat bread. You can fill it, roll it up and be out the door with breakfast or lunch in hand.0
-
eggs, banana's, protein powder (mix with almond milk, spinach and whatever frozen fruit I have).0
-
Walmart has had Chobani yogurt single sizes for $1 for a while. I'm pretty sure that my family of five has spent at least $200 on yogurt in the past couple of months.
I've been buying a lot of dried beans and trying new crock pot recipes. I love to have bean soups or chili for lunch. They're easy, high fiber, good protein, and cheap, which is good because I spend all my money on Chobani.
I also usually browse the Internet and choose at least two new healthy recipes before I shop.0 -
I always need to have eggs ( fave breakfast food), carrots (for snacking) and tomatos for soup.0
-
Cartons of eggs and onions. These two things are always on my grocery list. I'm vegetarian too.
Half a dozen egg whites scrambled with veggies is our go-to meal at home if we are too tired to think.0 -
how vegetarian? I mean Lacto/Ovo, Pescetarian, Vegan?
I'm not vegetarian and my main staples are eggs, chicken breast and ground turkey. So that's probably of zero help to you unfortunately.0 -
Mushrooms, Spinach, Apples, Mixed Nuts, Yoghurt, Chicken and Sweet Potato!0
-
eggs and a lot of different vegetables. Omlets are relly popular with me but I will always have a basic salad too.0
-
Eggs, string cheese, greek yougurt, spinach, spring mix, avocados, whole wheat english muffins, spicy red pepper hummus, protein powder, milk. I could pretty much live a happy existence with those items.0
-
Low calorie hummus and mini carrots.....feels you up!0
-
Frigo Cheeseheads 50 calorie string cheese. I am a cheese addict. This gives me the delicious creamy goodness without all the calories.0
-
String cheese & raspberries! Always!0
-
spinach, brown rice, mushrooms, sugar free wheat bread, oranges, bananas, grapes, and black bean burgers. now i'm hungry for a salad after typing that....lol!0
-
Spinach, mini peppers, yogurt, blueberries, sweet potatoes, eggs, almonds, brown rice, whole wheat pasta, avocados, chicken and ground turkey.0
-
Baby carrots, eggs, unsweetened almond milk, tuna (that doesn't help you though) mini rice cakes, libertè Greek yogurt, strawberries and aged cheddar.0

"Low calorie hummus and mini carrots.....feels you up!"
What if I want the hummus and carrots but I prefer not to be felt up. :noway:
Sorry...I couldn't resist!!0 -
I have a pretty long list of staples:
brown rice, quinoa, canned and dried beans (of all sorts), leafy greens (usually spinach, kale and/or collards), brussel sprouts, cauliflower, Flat Out brand wraps, carrots, onions, garlic, cocoa roast almonds, soy milk, various types of mustard, vinegar and hot sauce
These are things that I try never to be without (excluded any non-vegetarian items)
Edit: I forgot peanut butter!!0 -

Yum! I'm a lacto/ovo vegetarian, so eggs and whatnot are good for me! Although Ive been drinking almond milk, because regular milk is just nasty tasting and i need calcium! Good ideas though! And all simple, non-packaged food. I love hummus!0

Low calorie hummus and mini carrots.....feels you up!
If these felt me up, I would buy them more often0 -
Dannon Light&Fit Greek Yogurt (lowest sugar and yummy - lower than Chobani)
Fage 0% greek (for cooking substitute like sour cream, making dips or dressing)
Avocado
Eggs
Mushrooms
Onions
Cauliflower (mashed, cauli-fried rice etc)
Tofu
BACON (yeah, I'm not vegetarian)0 -
Not vegetarian here however my staples are:
chicken breast, ground turkey, pork loin chops, tilapia, LOTS of eggs, shredded cheese, green peppers, onions, berries, cucumbers, brocoli, green beans, asparagus, apples, peanut butter and PB2, protein powders, mustard(s), light sour cream, phew....
I don't need to buy all week to week however I do try and keep my "diet" of foods that I can easily prepare for my entire family :drinker:0 -
Low-fat cottage cheese; ripe tomatoes; miso soup (I add a crushed garlic clove & slice of fresh ginger to it when I heat it); kale with cannellini beans (great Martha Stewart recipe); English muffins broiled with shredded cheddar cheese; fat-free vanilla yogurt with a shredded apple added. More that I can't think of right now!0
-
Boneless/skinless chicken breasts and about 5-6 broccoli crowns. And whatever produce is in season and cheap. I bought 5lbs of green beans this morning because they were $1.500
-
I am vegetarian too.
My staples are quinoa, rices (brown, white and wild), garlic, onions, tomatoes, lemons & limes (love squeezing these on salads instead of salad dressing), celery, carrots, romaine lettuce, dried legumes (black beans, mixed beans, lentils), Greek yogurt, bananas, clementines, frozen fruit (for my smoothies), edamame, veggie broth, Barilla pasta, green grapes, various cheeses and various herbs.
My other fresh vegetables and fruits change each week depending on cost and what recipe I am making. They include broccoli, cauliflower, green beans, zucchini, asparagus, escarole, kale, broccoli raab, sweet potatoes, brussels sprouts, peppers, bok choy, squash (acorn, butternut, spaghetti), apples, oranges, kiwi, mango, avocado, strawberries, berries (raspberry, blueberry, blackberry), fennel, arugula, eggplant and so on.0 -
Broccoli, baby plum tomatoes , cucumber, mini wholemeal bread , bananas , nutella, soups, carrot sticks, clementines , pears (leaving pears to ripen for a few days makes them awesomely juicy) , jam, sunflower seeds, almonds, agave nectar , gherkins, ryvita , black olives, natural yoghurt
just recent stuff I've been eating xD0 -
My list changes based on the recipes I have chosen to cook that week, however I wanted to share a dry bean idea a friend shared with me recently.
She buys dry beans and cooks up the entire bag (in the crockpot). Once the beans are cooked and cooled, she measures them out into one cup servings and puts them into ziplock freezer bags. When she is making something and needs beans, she can just grab one of her pre-made bags. It is very cost effective and saves time too.
I have a 32 bean mix I bought at Costco that I am going to be making up next weekend and freezing so that I can make quick and easy bean soups, chili or add them to salads, etc instead of thinking about how good it would be if I had them to add....
My friend is also proposing that a group of friends each pick a variety of beans to make up and then meeting to visit and do a bean and recipe swap. This would allow you to try some other varieties without having to buy them. Plus you wouldn't have to cook them all up yourself to stock up your freezer with some options and you'll get some new recipes to try the beans in.0 -
