Alright-I'm diving in!
I'm starting my own story- my journey- my challenge!
I made the decision to sign up for a very intense 8 week program (XBR- Xtreme Body results) It starts tonight! AHHHHH! I'm excited, and I'm nervous. But, I feel challenged! Lots of emotions actually. It's been a while that I've felt this motivated to make a move. I've talked about it, and started but like everything else…don't follow through.
I met with the trainer yesterday in preparation for today's class. She checked my BMI, my resting heart rate, she tested my flexibility, the amount of push-ups and sit-ups I could do in a minute (#'s are pathetic) weighed me, did all of the tests necessary… I've got to tell you it was a sweet reality check. I've known I'm not in good shape. But, for someone to tell me, and show me charts at where I'm at "statistically" for my age group. She identified me as "poor"…wait! not just poor "very poor". I sat there in shame. The trainer was sweet though, she assured me that it was going to be ok. I couldn't even explain myself. My performance, and my "very poor" results demonstrated it all. I am in bad shape. And for a 35 year old, health wise-I am probably 45.
So, here's a little bit about me…I'm married & have two little ones (4.5 y/o and a 14 mo. old). I work full time in a very sedentary position and don't make any time to work out. I can't really come up with an original reason as to why. I mean, yes I'm busy. Yes, it's hard to balance it all. Yes, I probably can make it happen…but, I haven't.
Throughout my high school years, I was pretty athletic. I played basketball, volleyball, and softball. Always, ran or worked out. I met my husband and we were pretty active together, got into cycling with him…We got married and I slowly started to put on the weight…had my first child and added a lot of weight. Didn't lose it, and got pregnant and…Well, this is why I am here.
I'm hoping these next 8 weeks will transform me! Into the old me. I know I'm still there…but, I need to prove it to myself! I've set some realistic goals for myself. Along, with the goal of transforming myself, I would like to lose 15 lbs! Given, that the program is intense and my diet will change I'm sure that it won't be hard. This is my goal for the next 8 weeks. Overall, I would like to lose a total of 60 pounds!
I could use all the help, advice, and/or suggestions anyone is willing to give me!
Thank you in advance! and I hope to hear from you soon

That was me! With a full-time job, 8 children, 5 cats and a dog, my life is hectic. I have a desk job, so sitting is what I do for 9+ hours a day (excluding commute). I said enough was enough when I could barely make it up the stairs with a basket of laundry - that was the beginning of January. Now I exercise every single day - I have made an appointment with myself Monday - Friday from 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm for exercise. I am fortunate enough to be able workout where I work. There are 4 of us that workout every night after work in our lunch room (ironic, huh?).
If I can do this, you can do this. I'm here for ya! Feel free to add me as a friend.0 -
