I have lost 11 pounds since I began this diet. I've never, ever succeeded on a diet well enough to break the ten-pound-loss mark before!! I've got a long way to go -- another 54 pounds to my target weight -- but this has really made me believe that if I keep it going, slow and steady, I can DO it!

Way to go!! And may I offer a helpful bit of advice?? You should start thinking of this as a "lifestyle change" now that you've lost the first 10 lbs!! You've probably developed better eating habits and begun a good workout routine, so it's no longer a diet. You've changed your lifestyle!! You are right, if you keep it going, slow and steady wins the race! You CAN do this, and you are changing your life for the better! Congrats and good luck on the next 54!!! :):)
  • Thanks for the suggestion, and I really mean to follow it. I do think of this as a lifestyle change, toward healthier eating! I don't work out yet, because I'm still trying to get my fibromyalgia under control enough that a workout doesn't mean a major pain spike every time it happens... but I'm working toward the goal of being able to do real workouts, because they're good for the fibro as well as for the rest of my health! Right now, I'm eating healthier and trying to make THAT a permanent lifestyle change, and I'm doing little mini-workouts of gentle walking, or five minutes a day of dancing, to try and get activity worked into my daily routine even if right now it can only be a tiny bit. I've lost the weight on being careful with food alone, not on exercise, but I intend to stay careful with food and eat right even when I reach my target weight, and I also hope to be exercising for real long before that time. It just may take a bit to get there!

    Thank you for the encouragement!

Yes! With a diet you relinquishing control of what you eat to that diet. With a lifestyle change you are taking control of your life - and body.

I was diagnosed with FM in August of this year. I think it is a mild form. I've tried to stop taking Savella twice and the pain comes back after about a week and a half. I still feel it with exercise. I have a very hard time going past 20-30 minutes.

I also have fibro and just keep doing what you are doing. I too started with just a little bit of walking , just walking around the block and then started doing the wii a little bit and just kept trying to increase. I am still not doing killer workouts, but I am doing more and more. Just hang there and take it slow
