Am I doing this wrong?...

so I just purchased a stability ball the other day for chest workouts with my 15lb dumbbells, was doing chest flys. I worked out with it yesterday an this morning my lower back is SORE!. Is it possible that I am maybe laying on this thing wrong?..

    You could be but you could also be working muscles in your back that you do not normally work, and that is why they are sore.

    Sounds like you just didn't engage your core. If you sink into the ball or arch your back this will happen. You have to engage your core the entire time and the back pain should go away. The ball is meant to give you a core workout while you are working the other muscle groups.

    thanks for the reply ladies!, I am thinking now that you mention it, my back may have been at an arch because I know I felt a nice burn in my gut area lol. Ill try again today an see what happens.

    Also I do agree that it could also be the fact that I have never really worked my back out before lol.

    Your obliques should be sore if you are doing it right. The whole idea around the ball work out is to engage your core. My husband has a ball in his office he uses a few hours a week to sit on while working for that very reason.

    Good luck! There are a lot of things you can do with that ball besides sitting on it. Try laying your back and putting it between your ankles and lifting your legs up and down real slow. Now that will hurt so good!

    that's a really good idea what your Husband does, may have to give that a go hehe
