Hey folks, iv got 1 stone 2lb to loose and have been struggling to loose it for a bit now, iv lost over a stone but its stopped.
i work nightshift has anyone any tips, any tips and weight loss storys would be a great help guys xx

just started as well but I have lost 6 lbs at first I was going over my calorie intake ...just stay focused and do u exercise at all0

The forums are absolutely filled with success stories, tips, tricks, setbacks, etc.
The best thing you can do is read through a lot of the threads and then keep coming back to the forums and reading new postings.
If you put your goals into MFP properly, its suggested calorie intake is usually pretty good and helping you lose weight.0 -
thanks guys, yeah i have done tht, 1200 calories per day, once i get the swing of it il b good,
was just reading through some stories there and they r fab,
I dont really do exercise as i work 3 nightshifts 1 week and 4 the next, i am looking into joining a class or 2 for my days off0 -
Sure, 3 simple steps:
1st: Do not change for a while (about two weeks) what you're eating, just track it into MFP (My Fitness Pal).
2nd: In the meanwhile, familiarize yourself with the basis of nutrition (not diets, but nutrition).
3rd: Once that you know where you start (1st step) and you know where you want to go (lose weight), use your knowledge on nutrition to find a diet that: suits you, improves your health (meaning: do NOT try extreme diets) and eventually drives you to your goal (losing weight).

In my experience of several years of working night shift, the most healthy way to lose weight is to bring your own meals to work. Its a bit of a challenge at first but after a week or two you'll get the hang of it. ((Saves you money too so that's a double bonus!!))0

My advice is to keep it simple and make small changes daily. If you usually have a donut for breakfast, have a banana instead. If that seems livable, make another change tomorrow. Keep it livable and do-able for the long term.0

First, I wouldn't recommend to start looking at the amount of calories you should eat right now. I'd better just track what you're already eating (by a week or two) without taking care of the numbers.
That being said: not gonna lie, 1200 sounds kinda low.
Anyway, I don't really use the calculator on MFP, I'm more used to this one: iifym.com/iifym-calculator/
Use the exercise level at "no exercise (desk job)" to know how much calories you should consume if you don't do any kind of training. That's the number MFP gives you as My Home > Goals > Your Diet Profile > From Normal Daily Activity. There might be a slight difference (100 calories or less) between the two calculators.
Then, any reduction of that number (either by walking, training or just eating 5% less) it's gonna lead to weight loss. Try to not become a number-freak, the key here is to have certain flexibility andKeep it livable and do-able for the long term.
