Trying Insanity

I'm a 22 year old girl studying engineering in college. I used to play volleyball and swim and run track in high school. Since picking my major, I have had an extremely hard time trying to eat well and exercise because college takes up so much of my time and money.
This summer, my boyfriend's family and my family are going on a week long trip to the Caribbean and it's the first time in a while that I have felt motivated to lose weight. I'm heavier now than I have ever been, at 6'1" and 195 lb. According to WebMd, my BMI says I'm overweight even though my waist to height ratio says I'm not.
Up til now, I haven't tried because of the oh-so-common fear of failing. But my boyfriend recently acquired both p90x and Insanity from a friend and I want to try Insanity to see if I can stick to it (it seemed like it would work better for me than p90x).
I will try and keep it up and post on this site.
Wish me luck!

It's all in the mind! Girl, you can do anything if your put your kind to it. Also just remember one day at a time. Being for and healthy should be a lifelong goal, so you have all the time you need to get fit and exercise. One step at a time had been key to my workouts- any workouts. I've tried insanity In the past, it does work! But I did not stick with it. But the time I did I got great results. Now I am doing Jillian Michaels workouts. Then later this year I plan to do insanity. Good luck u can do it!0

I'm half way through week 2 and am completely in love! Make sure you take a before picture and measurements. Don't rely too heavily on the scale....you will build a lot of muscle and the scale will reflect that. Better to gauge your success by inches lost instead. Also, I'm hearing it's very important to follow the meal plan and caloric recommendations outlined in the nutrition guide for optimal results. Good luck! It is TOUGH but go at your own pace, take it one day at a time and enjoy0

I'm on my third week of Insanity now and it does work... it is really tough but you can just do whatever you can and it would still be better than seating all day
I was really really unfit after a few years of only working and not exercising and I can already feel fitter and last much longer than when I started with Insanity.
I also have had a 3-4 day break in the middle because this weekend I went on an intense canoeing/hiking/cycling trail and on Monday was feeling a bit tired again but after doing my workout yesterday, I'm feeling active and back to "normal" again.
Not only it will help you to lose weight (agree with the + inches than weight itself) but will make you feel better with yourself when you see how good you feel and how you will end up "needing" Insanity every day.
I have to point out that I usually do 5 days Insanity + 2 Hip Hop Abs days (usually on the "Cardio rest" and "Rest" days of Insanity), that helps me to keep up with my exercise routine and make sure I do something every day, even if it's only 30 minutes.
Good luck!0 -
I absolutely love Insanity! You don't even realize how long you're working out when you do it and you see results fast. Also, try using a Polar watch.. it tracks your heart rate as well as calories burned to make it a little easier to keep track of calories in/out.
