how to get bigger thighs?

So this is a kind of odd question-:embarassed: esp. since I'm an older teen girl and thigh gaps are so 'in', but I want to know, how would I get bigger thighs? If I were to drop 7lbs- BAM! I would have a thigh gap, and I hate it, I have broad shoulders, narrow hips and skinny legs. I started doing HiiT workouts, run up the stairs 2 at a time everyday, and I do squats. I have calories set to maintenance (1800+ calories a day) but have two 500 calorie days a week.(following 5:2 'diet')
Any suggestions?

    to build muscle in your legs you need to eat at a surplus and incorporate consistent weight training... muscle comes slow so it will be a process. several gals on here recommend strong lifts or new rules of lifting as good programs, i would start there and utilize one of those programs to get comfortable with lifting weights for the entire body if you are not comfortable already.

    besides that, heavy squats, heavy squats and more heavy squats and your thighs should grow... good luck..

    Yea, barbell squats with enough weight to where you can only do about 10 reps in a set

    Look into a hypertrophy program like PHAT. I added some good size to my thighs using that program.
