Do you work out in the morning or at night?

I've noticed the past couple of days that I would be on the stationary bike at night.
I like working out at night because I don't have to worry about running errands or preparing/eating a bit meal (don't have to worry about logging a huge meal after dinner ). I can just sit and pop in a good movie with subtitles while I work off the pounds.

That sounds great! I usually do it in the afternoon or whenever I'm free. I'm too lazy to do it at night, I'd probably just end up waking myself up and not be able to go to bed.0

I work out usually between 12pm-2pm. And sometimes between 9pm and 11pm... That's mostly because I work evening shifts, but when I'm off I like to spend the day with other activities, and get to the gym late.0

Lucky you! I'm a horrible night owl. My theory is if I work out at night it will make it easier for me to fall asleep. :laugh:0

I have to work around my kids. I'm either up before everyone else at the crack of dawn, or (on weekends) I squeeze it in during their nap time. If they weren't the determining factor, I think I'd prefer to work out everyday in the morning. It's nice to get it out of the way, shower, and do my hair and makeup only once!0

Whenever douchcanoe central with the obligatory muscle t's and douchettes from yoga pantsville are not overpopulating the gym.0

What Are Omega-3 Fatty Acids?
Omega-3 fatty acids are found in fatty layers of cold-water fish and shellfish, plant and nut oils, English walnuts, flaxseed, algae oils, and fortified foods. You can also get omega-3s as supplements. Food and supplement sources of these fatty acids differ in the forms and amounts they contain.
There are the two main types of omega-3 fatty acids:
Long-chain omega-3 fatty acids are EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid). These are plentiful in fish and shellfish. Algae often provides only DHA.
Short-chain omega-3 fatty acids are ALA (alpha-linolenic acid). These are found in plants, such as flaxseed. Though beneficial, ALA omega-3 fatty acids have less potent health benefits than EPA and DHA. You'd have to eat a lot to gain the same benefits as you do from fish.
Fishing for Facts: What Studies Reveal About Omega-3s and Fish
In addition to omega-3s, fish is high in protein, vitamins, and minerals. And, it's low in saturated fat.
Hundreds of studies suggest that omega-3s may provide some benefits to a wide range of diseases: cancer, asthma, depression, cardiovascular disease, ADHD, and autoimmune diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis.
How could fatty acids be so beneficial for so many different conditions?
"All these diseases have a common genesis in inflammation," says Joseph C. Maroon, MD, professor and vice chairman of the department of neurological surgery at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Co-author of Fish Oil: The Natural Anti-Inflammatory, Maroon says that in large enough amounts omega-3's reduce the inflammatory process that leads to many chronic conditions.
For these and other reasons, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), the American Heart Association, and the American Dietetic Association recommend eating two 8-ounce servings of fish each week.0 -

6am for a workout before the day begins and then I'll go to a group fitness class in the evening at the gym. So both!0
-
wake up 3, do stuff, arrive @4:30am Favorite part of my day nobody can mess up.0
-
Commute to work: 15 minutes of brisk walking.
Lunch break: 30 minutes of brisk walking.
Commute home: 15-30 minutes of brisk walking (depending on route).
While dinner is in the oven: 20-30 minutes of a video workout.
I am not a morning person — and although I find I have more energy throughout the day if I do manage to exercise in the morning, it's hard for me to get up in time to do it before work. After dinner a workout gets my energy back up, burns away the stresses of the day, and makes me feel like I earned my dinner.0 -
Wake up at 5am to workout at 5:30-6am.0

At night. I already get up early enough.0

When the weather warms up it's a 5K run at 4:30 a.m. love the morning work outs.:happy:0 -
At night. I'm just not a morning person and can not get up early to do it. My kids go to bed pretty early (by 7:30) which leaves me plenty of time to get a workout in.0

Evening. I'm really not a morning person, I prefer to workout at night when I'm done with everything for the day0

If I am running, than 4:30am, usually 4 days a week. If I am strength training, at the gym by 5am 2-3 days a week. It is early for sure, but the only time I know I can consistently work out so that;s when I go.0
-
I do both. Whenever I can fit into my schedule.0
-
I never know what my day is going to look like during the week, so I wake up around 4 am and work out. There are no excuses at that time of the morning, and I don't have to worry if another appointment gets in the way. It seems to help me, but might not be for everyone!0
-
I get my workouts done in the mornings before work. I prefer not to do anything productive after I get home from work... I just like to sit, relax, get my grub on, and watch the tube.0
-
I have a hard enough time getting up for work in the morning. I'm certainly not going to get up for exercise, no matter how much I enjoy it. I generally work out during my lunch hour and then again at around 9pm.
I find, for me anyway, the night time exercise is best to relieve the stress of the day. And it still gives me time to relax before bed.0 -
I can not work out in the mornings. I dont know what it is. Everyone says you will feel great the rest of the day with all this energy, blah blah, blah....... not for this gal. I feel horrible!!! My workouts suffer because I dont have the stamina I usually have in the evenings. So, I prefer working out after work.0
-
I don't think there's a "best" time to do it, just what works for you in terms of personal routine, and work/family commitments. Personally, I split my hour-a-day of exercise into two 30-minute chunks (one cardio, one circuit-training DVD), one early morning and one early-evening; but that's because I'm fitting around lots of other things.0
