Weight-wise yes, however exercise contributes to overall fitness which can, in the long run, improve weight loss and has a variety of other benefits.0

If you are using those 500 calls to build muscle you could potentially burn calories everyday just doing your daily movements. Such as laundry, walking, sitting in a chair, ect.0

Incorrect. However you need to be careful to make sure that you are actually burning them off. A lot of people wildly overestimate their exercise.0 -
Eat more work out more, build more muscle increase metabolism and then body burns more on its own, you get fit, strong, healthy AND you get to eat MORE! YAY win win.0

im asking because i unknowingly ate 1000 calories over my llimit today ( LOL ) and if i burn 1000 , will my weight at the end of the week be as if i didnt over eat? i=0

YES to the other comment, make sure you don't over estimate your workouts calorific burn. Most people think they have burnt more than they have. If you think you can burn 500 cals then eat 500 more, always best to under estimate though. So you went over by 1000 (thats quite a bit to go over by) but just eat a little under say 200 less off every days intake and do a little more exercise then by the end of the week you will balance out.0

They are the same. (They are both 1500 calories). However, "Burning" 500 calories can increase metabolism, which can result in additional calories burnt as well. Basically "skinny" can happen in the kitchen, but "fit" takes work AND nutrition.0

try not to think of it as a daily thing. more like weekly. how many calories a day x 7 days. hit that number and you will be ok.
That said, don't go and kill yourself tonight with cardio to try and make it all up now. you'd likely have to spend several hours at it to get close to 1000kcal burned. its probably easier to just cut back an extra 150 calories a day for the next 6 days and maybe get in a small walk a couple times this week.0 -

For short term weight loss, yes. Or at least...pretty much.
For a lifetime Hell No.
Get the exercise.
Also if you're eating a lot while losing weight then if it ever stalls you can easily reduce intake a couple hundred to get it moving again. If you're already eating very little reducing it further may not be an attractive, or safe, option.
Better all around to get plenty of excercise and eat well to fuel your success. It gives you health and options.0 -

In addition Eating 1500 calories and eating 2000 and burning 500 is definitely the same. But with eating 2000 then burning 500 it would be a healthy habit. For the 500 calories burned in your body also removed toxins from your body. And it also keeps body alive than first option.0 -
