I did two days ago, not fully shaved, thought about it but seemed like a challenge, so cut it 1/8 inch long. Had it bleach so cut it down to the brown roots.
Seemed like a new start and a way to start what is probably going to be a year or so weight loss trek.
Has anyone else felt compelled to do this?
not that Im suggesting it or anything, just seemed like the thing to do

wow what rude people, sincere question, this is honestly why I stop using this site for so long because there is no point talking to the rude people on this "Community"
pick fun at me and then wonder why youre self esteem is so low and other people pick fun at you.
Ive had several friends cut their hair off when they were going through a massive transition and wondered if others did.0 -
No, noway and nope!0
-
Did you at least donate your hair?0
-
I actually think that is kind of cool!
As you can see in my pic, I have really short hair. I usually wear it that length or even shorter. I just hit my "anniversary" of 1 year on this site and 71 lb lost, and when I was looking at my before/after shots from March 2013 and this March I noticed the only thing that looked the same was my hair. So now I'm going to grow out my hair, not sure how long but MAYBE for the next 1 year period of change...we shall see.
I know that is not the same thing at all, hehe0 -
I havent but I wish I had the balls to shave it all off
Just to get rid of the regrowth..0 -

lol my sister dyed her hair green (16 y/o) and she did to get rid of it, don't know what she was thinking coloring it green though0 -

my pics still show mine long but its been the length of yours or a little shorter, its been so long since its been long im torn but yea I was thinking about growing mine out in my natural color to a bob, it will only take 2 months tops to get to my previous length0 -
donate it lol, all 2 inches of bleached to hell and back fur, nobody wants that nonsense, though it did make a surprisingly substantial pile of hair0

And to answer your question, I cut all my hair off two years ago (the kind that was shaved in the back and angled longer in the front),and I'm currently growing mine out. So, no, I won't be cutting mine off.0

Never shaved my head completely, but I often have a buzz cut. Makes me more aerodynamic so I can type faster on these message boards.
But seriously, I did shave my legs about 20 years ago when I was into competitive biking. Yes, it cuts down slightly on wind resistance, but for me the important thing was that it is better when you take a spill. Been in two bike crashes in races (neither my fault), and both times got my legs and other body parts scraped up pretty good. When you have road rash, it is much better if you don't have hairs getting in the way and potentially causing infection. Also seems to heal faster without all of my wookie leg hair.0 -
When I hit the 50lb lost mark, I cut all mine off. It went from the middle of my back to the mohawk/pixie that's in my profile picture now. I've always wanted to try out really short hair, but never thought it looked good on bigger gals. (Including myself) So when I hit my first goal, this was my reward.
That and i got so tired of trying to do something with my hair after the gym. This is a shower, towel dry, pomade and go. 5 min max. lol. The only bad part is now my husband style's his into a mohawk too... we look like those couples that wear matching outfits all the time.0 -
I clipped my fingernails once. Instantly lost like .025 grams of weight. Got me movin.0

I kind of agree that pixie cuts look better on thinner people and I think that's part of why I cut mine off, I have full intentions to go back to a white pixie cut, I feel like Im reserving it for when I feel sexy again0

I've seriously considered shaving my head. But not to start a diet. Just for kicks. I never have though, 'cause my face is super round, and if I was bald I'd look exactly like a vanilla Moon Pie.0

Cheers to your strength for doing something like that!! I don't think I have the courage to do it.0

I've shaved my head at the start of a football season but that was because we were doing 2 practices a day in summer heat in full pads. It was more of a buzz than a shave. I've always thought that a pixie cut can be cute on the right person (including a couple here)
Dear OP, if you do it, just remember to put sunblock on the dome when you go out. Sunburn on the scalp hurts like hell. There's plenty of ways to kickoff a new diet:
- Donating all your junk food in the house to the local food bank.
- A new grill
- Buy yourself a new HRM. --> new toys are fun!0 -
I didn't/haven't done it for a diet, but I totally see where you are coming from with it feeling like something to do.
When I was 21, I got word that a girl I had dated in high school died from a heart problem. i loved her when we dated and took her death a little hard. Particularly because - as is the case with most break ups - it didn't end well. i felt guilty, and sad, and angry and a whole array of emotions. And when I decided I needed to move past that, one of the things i did to help me transition past it was shave my head.
it was cathartic. it is almost a symbolic shedding of an old skin, and it felt like it was the right thing to do. So, again, I totally see where you are coming from .
now, i just shave my head because I'm bald :-)0 -
