Hi just starting this week I keep going over my target. Still getting used to how many carbs in milk. I have always had a sweet tooth so looking for low carb "sweet" snacks or desserts for afters! Am I allowed sugar free jelly? I used to eat a lot of fruit if I have milk in my tea & coffee that takes up a lot of my daily carbs. Help any suggestions gratefully received.

What's your carb target.
Also what's your reasons behind low carbing - are you looking to do this as a lifestyle change, or a short term diet?0 -
Are you doing an Atkins style induction? Or are you doing low carb/high fat (LCHF)? It depends on what specifically you are doing and what your carb/fat targets are for the day. I was doing Dukan, but was stalling out. So now I'm doing more of the LCHF and it seems to be working for me. There's a FB group with great recipes. I ONLY recommend these if you are doing LCHF, but I love them. Chocolate Peanut Butter Fat Bombs. http://screwedonstraight.net/keto-diet-peanut-butter-cup-fat-bombs/0

I'm doing LCHF aiming for 25gm carbs. Got at least 5stone to lose tried every other diet going over the years getting heavier each time. Cut right back on my milk now by having cream in my coffee instead of a latte. How long should it be before I see any weight loss?0

Sugar free usually means chemical replacements. Best to just use good carbs, like fruits and veggies. You need carbs for energy. It's just eating the right ones.0

You don't NEED carbs for energy actually. With low carb, we use fats for energy instead. I can still jog for 15 minutes and do a full Wii Fit routine.0 -

If you love sweet things, look up "fat bombs" and make a bunch! Sugar free things can be okay. depending on what is used as a replacement for the sugar. I personally use sugar free creamer in my coffee and have been fine. Also tried sugar free Werther's Original and found I couldn't taste the difference between that and the original sugar variety. If you need some dairy in your coffee, either switch to a sugar free creamer, OR give heavy cream a try.0
