Hi I am an older member who has returned and now thinks it's really time to do this in vengeance. I did lose three stone before but put on 1/2 a stone again. Now back to try and reduce my weight as much as possible thanks to a new illness.
Currently can't exercise due to a flare up of an autoimmune disease but trying to find ways to lose weight and keep it off. Any help or friends would be so welcomed right now.

OWN your nutrition. Eat at BMR.... weigh/measure everything. Cut back on empty calories/sugar/junk. Feel free to add me and good luck!0

Hi! I just sent you a friend request.
The good news is that you already know some of the things you need to do to be successful. Where you are now you may need to make some adjustments to your activities, but can and will lose weight even if you simply walk more.
Looking forward to hearing great things about how you are doing.0 -
Hi,
One of my friends has RA and says the following help for him: gluten-free diet, lots of vegetables and fruits in diet, and elimination of added sugar (raw honey and crushed dates are ok as sweeteners). He says especially the cutting sugar helps a lot.
He also avoids dairy. So his diet is meat, along with gluten-free grains like brown rice, lots of fresh fruit and vegetables, and eggs. He drinks soy milk and almond milk - any non-dairy milk.
Perhaps this diet might help you. It is a difficult diet - you might consider dropping one allergen/offender per week (dairy, wheat products, sugar) and see what helps the most.0 -

Thank you very much for your help and suggestions. I had already cut out dairy due to IBS style issues but my dr has recently asked me to go back to a dairy diet as my calcium levels had dropped too low. I definitely think a more conscious diet of grains and fresh produce would help though.0 -
