KAtie- I hate when people are that rude! I am glad your hubby stood up for you too!
Stacey- i think That is a great plan, with the preplanning of the meals! Let us know how it's going. I may have to try that.
My parents are in town for the holidays, so it's been crazy already! :noway: I am keep some normalcy!0 -
thanks nicole! as my ticker shows my wt is CLIMBING UP!! i know why....i mean at this point in our lives it's not like hmmm, eating more calories than i use is a problem?!:grumble:
so...i'm leaving my goals the same for the end of this month. i am NOT getting on the scale till jan 1. in jan i will re-set my goals and mini goals, etc. for now, it's hold steady w/o gaining.
hopefully, if i stick to the calories and increase my exercise, i will be able to drop a few #s. wish me LUCK and PERSEVERANCE!
hope everyone has a GREAT day!0 -
Well, hubby had another EKG today and................................................things are GREAT!
Doesn't go back til next Monday.
Now on to whatever, been trying to read everyone's stories and news, and I forget what everyone has been up to by the end, so I'm going to try to do better on this week.
Kelsey, my 6 yr old had a snow day bc of the weather being so bad here. One county over was worse than us, the kids here could have gone to school but I guess the weather conditions were pretty bad this morning before the buses were able to get out, so they decided for a snow day, so my hands have been full.
Haven't lost any weight or gained, but hubby, since getting on the diet from his dr and being in and out of the hospital and before all this he had gained weight, so when he lost weight it didn't show up on here, but good news, he has lost a total of 25 lbs and hopefully will get back to his weight on here so that it will show up, but we will be able to add 25 lbs to that weight loss.
Well, that is all for now, just thought I would update and check in while I had a few moments.
Stacy-I hear ya, I'm leaving my goal the way it is too and will be started the new year off with some good results and new goals, esp since this whole thing with hubby has opened BOTH our eyes.
Have a great day everyone, if any of you are dealing with the same weather I am, whether it be lake effect snow (like what we're getting) or the snow storm, please be safe out there and stay warm (or cool if your one the west coast).0 -
Stacey & Nicole~It wasn't just the nasty looks that she gave. She also counted the kids up and then in a nasty tone said my good L@#$ are you kidding me! Yeah he had to stay put where he was at he was so peeved at her but oh well not much you can do for those that are blatantly rude like that. Oh and we get it all the time here even at church. LOL I guess people all over are starting to have less children.
Stacey~Good luck on the goal of exercise.
Nicole~Good luck with the normalcy
So I am hoping to be able to get back to logging this week. I went to go log my food this morning and could not find the darn mouse. Stupid cordless mouse the kids think that it is a toy. So we are pretty much ready for Christmas I think we will get one toy for each of the kids and then be done. How about you ladies?0 -
Katie~some peole just don't know when to keep their thoughts to themselves, glad DH stood up for you guys. I only have 4 but people are shock when they assume we are done and I mention that we haven't made that decision yet. I get the "wow you have your hands full" comment all the time because of my 3 under 3 and I always just laugh and say yup, like I did have my hands full with 2 or even 1. Hello people it is not your job to comment on my choice to have children or how many I have, they are happy & healthy and well taken care of so how is it any of your business. Oh well that's my rant for the day, haha!!
Barb~that is great news about DH!! It's hard to stay on track when life is so off track but I bet you'll get right back to it now!
Stacey~GOOD LUCK!!
As for me last week was a really bad week with both not going to the gym and eatting sweets. I made all these brownies for DH's Christmas party because they said no one was bringing any well then the table ended up being overflowning so now I have all the brownies in my house. DH is not at work this week because he is in a class otherwise he would of taken them to work to get rid of them. So now they sit on my counter just calling my name, I think I am going to have to find someone to give them to! But on the plus side I went to the gym last night and it looks like with DH being in this class I should be able to get there tonight & tomorrow night as well!! So 3 nights out of the week is a step up for me the other two we have Christmas parties so I won't be able to make it. Now to control the eatting, I went to a friends house for lunch yesterday & ate bad stuff then it was Monday so the kids got to pick what they wanted for dinner & we ended up with Taco Bell where I made bad choices. So yesterday's eatting was bad but I stayed away from the brownies & I still stayed under my calorie goal!! Today is a new day & I will try again to eat better. I also some how lost another pound last week, probably just because it's still the baby weight coming off but hey it's still makes me happy!!0 -
Katie- I am trying to get my Christmas projects done. i am trying to sew....   I have a couple of my presents to buy and then I am done!
Mamaboys- yes! Today is a clean slate! That is a great way to look at it!
I have a run planned this morning, not exactly sure how far, I think a total of 5 miles, and then work on more Christmast projects.0 -
sweet tomatoes maybe wd've been less horrible if i ate less of the fat free fro yo, no cookie crumbles or no chocolate syrup
***and NO too big of a snack after school time. put the two together and BLAMO! i didn't even eat the choc brownie or mac n cheese etc.
on the + side, i've been good about water and eating vegetables these last two days.
Tomorrow--water + exercise!!0 -
Made it to the gym again last night, YAH ME!! And I ate better yesterday, as far as staying away from the sweets! (actually got a message that I didn't eat enough calories, suprised at that)
Now the trick is can I make it again tonight. I really need to hit the grocery store & DH usually likes to go too so it turns into atleast a 2hr trip. Plus everyone is hungry so we have to go eat first which then turns it into a 3-4hr trip. By the time I get home, put groceries away and get the boys to bed I am usually way to tired to even think about the gym plus it's usually time for Aaron to nurse and get cuddles for bed. Maybe I can convince DH to let me just go by myself then I can get in and out in under an hour and still have plenty of time for the gym! Guess we will see how he's feeling when he gets home.0 -
Hi Ladies,
My name is Veronica and I am a sahm to 2 beautiful children. I have a 4year old son and a 2year old daughter. I'm hoping to have another soon but am afraid that my weight may be making it more difficult. I'm trying to get started in logging what I eat and exercising but so far neither one of those things are going to well. If any of you ladies have any suggestions on how to do this with small children in the house that would be helpful. I've got about 100lbs to lose but I'd be happy with just a little bit of weight loss before getting pregnant with the next. Thanks Ladies.0 -
welcome veronica! you've come to the right place! we totally get the unique challenges of getting ourselves fit and taking care of the kids and running the house. so you'll be sure to get empathy and GREAT suggestions.
my first sugg is to focus on one thing at a time, espec when you're first starting out. there are so many habits that make up healthy living, it can be overwhelming.
sooo....pick one thing like get moving 2x this week., or log breakfast all week, or drink x oz water all week, or only one snack size bag of chips all week, or not eating off the kids' plates for a week
those are just some of the MANY ideas. start small and keep moving forward and you will reach your goal. :flowerforyou:0 -
mamato4--yay on gym!
and I did it!! i got my butt out of bed this AM and did 3miles with my bff, leslie sansone. thank you!!
i about burned off last night's dessert.
so my plan is to stay close to 1300 cals today cuz i was sooo over yesterday. and to drink water to flush out the fat.
hope everyone has a great "hump" day.0 -
Hi Stacey thanks for the welcome and reply. I do think that I will try to just change one thing I have been trying to change everything at once and it's just too overwhelming. I think that for this week I will committ to exercising for 30min 2x's this week. My goal is so big I start feeling like I can't do it but now I'm going to just focus on changing one habit at a time.0

Welcome Veronica ~ I just joined these nice ladies about a week ago myself so I'm new here too. I have 4 boys, they are 10, 3, 1 1/2 and 2 1/2 months so trust me I know how hard it is to fit in exercise and to eat good. I was just celebrating that I managed to get to the gm twice this week so it's not easy. I did just order myself some workout dvds so I would have something I could do when the boys are napping when I know I won't make it to the gym or just want to be able to spend some time with hubby instead of being gone at the gym when he is home in the evenings. As for eatting I am breastfeeding so I am suppose to have a few more calories but my problem mostly is making them good calories. I tend to grab whatever is handy when I have a second so I have to start making good things easy to eat and not have the bad around or atleast have them out of sight!
My biggest tip would be make sure you are drinking lots of water, I am usually pretty good about this but notice that days that I drink less or drink a lot of other things I tend to snack on stuff more. I am also a stress/emotional eatter so I have to stop myself and get away from the kitchen in those stressful moments, which is helping too. I am learning to just take it one day at a time, if I have a bad day I try not to beat myself up and just work toward doing better the next day!!0 -
Thanks for your reply Christy. I know that I eat out of stress a lot. When things get crazy and the kids are demanding I feel like I need to eat something to stay calm in that moment but I need to take a deep breath and teach my children to be more patient. I'm not very good under pressure and my knee jerk reaction when I'm feeling this way is to eat. Oh well just another thing on my list to work towards.0

Stacey~Way to go on the working out!
Christi~Way to go on getting to the gym.
Veronica~We all know how it is to have some sort of vice.I agree with Stacey and Christi on their advice just work on one thing at a time and don't beat yourself up if you mess up one day. Just pick yourself up dust yourself off and go at it again.
Being a Sahm is a hard job but also the most rewarding one.
So this week my goal has been to get my house in order and get caught up on the laundry. I don't think that I have been doing too bad. I have almost got all the laundry done and put away and I have de-cluttered some in the living room. I plan on logging my food today as well. Wish me luck. It might be ugly.0 -
Welcome Veronica!
Stacey- I know this sounds weird, but if you drink a tbsp of Braggs apple cider vinegar in a glass of water after a day like yesterday, it helps flush stuff out of your system.
Katie- How did the chocolate party go?
Keep your fingers crossed for me ladies....I am late...if ya know what I mean!:drinker:

Nicole~have not had the chocolate party yet. That is this Saturday the 18th. I will let you know how it goes. I am really trying my hardest to have it be a good turn out for Trish so that she can get some good sells and hopefully pick up some new customers. I will "keep my fingers crossed for you".:flowerforyou: :drinker:0
-
Thanks Katie :blushing:
I got DD's shirt done :drinker: I still need to work on Kyle's and hubby's pj's....nothing like waiting until the last minute! It's hard to work on Kyle's since he is here with me all day
Stacey- I have been meaning to ask you...How does DD1 like her school? Is she still liking it? Are the teachers treating her bettter?0 -
Nicole~Sounds like you are busy with your projects. I am supposed to be making scarfs for the family but have gotten stalled on it. They shouldn't be too hard to finish. So I am sure that I will get them done for Christmas.
Yay for me I log all my food yesterday and plan to do the same today! On today's agenda clean the kitchen and de-clutter it as well. Wish me luck I might get lost in all that junk.:laugh:0 -
I just wanted to pop in and say that if you ladies don't already have the cooking light fresh food fast 5 ingredients 15 minute recipes you have GOT to get it for your house! Talk about taking the stress out of making dinner. It has literally been a life saver for me and the food that I have made from it has been yummy! Plus it gives you the nutrition facts for each recipe AND the calories on the ones that I have made so far are really not that bad. Oh and I forgot to say that some are even in the database.0
-
nicole, wishing good things for you.
thanks for the sugg. can't do cider/vinegar. blech. but did eat an apple today and did much drinking of water. got total 4 fruit/vege. yay!
dd1 is at public school. it's going OK. certain things are better and certain things are so so. the private school fell thru.
but we're managing. at least she's making friends.
i didn't exercise today, but thursday's are tough. just schedule wise. i made careful choices for food--some chocolate pretzels but not as many as i could have....no mcd's even tho kids asked for it. etc etc
tomorrow i have a sitter coming. so i will either exercise first thing or when sitter here
dd2 had her tap mini-recital. sooo cute!
ok, need to tuck in the munchkins. they can't seem to settle without the mama tuck in.
sorry i didn't respond to everyone's, but katiem, thanks for the cookbook suggestion. tomorrow we go to the library. later--0 -
ok, Ihave bad news and good news...bad news first....no baby this month....but hte good news is I lost 2lbs!:drinker: SO if I can't have one, I will take the other!
Katie- I will have to check that out!
I can't believe that Christmas is a week away!!! WOW!0 -
(((hugs))) nicole, i know how hard it is to go through this. will continue to pray for your good health and that a baby will come your way. ((hugs))
congrats on the wt loss!
i know i said i wdn't....but i weighed myself today. woohoo! a loss. i felt lighter and just needed it confirmed. now i can hold out again---for a week anyway.
christi--which dvd's did you order? another katie who used to hang out on this thread had tons and good recs too! tae bo was one of her faves.
GOALS TODAY: water water, 5 fruit/vege, exercise!
what are you aiming for today? shoot high!
and let's talk weekend plans for staying on track. one massive meal can blow ALL your hard work. so let's think together how to make it thru to success. :flowerforyou:0 -
Nicole~ I am sorry to hear that! I will also pray for some fertility to go your way. I joke with others that I can send some fertility their way would you like some??? I will gladly send some. :flowerforyou: Oh and way to go on the loss.
Stacey~Way to go on the loss. I have been trying to pop gum in my mouth when I feel like eating but know that I don't need the food. So for me I am going to keep the gum handy and if I do eat any treats I am going to call on some self control:laugh: (lately I don't have any of that). So pretty much for me stay away from it and my "weapon" of choice is gum. My goals for the day is water, water, water, exercise and to come under my calories.
So I logged my food again! YAY for me. Two days of logging and two days over on my calories. I stepped on the scale this morning and I have had a gain. No surprise there. Time to get back into this and get this weight off and keep it off.0 -
I logged my food today AND exercised! Didn't do so good on the water though BUT I stayed under my calories. :bigsmile:0
-
That's excellent Katie! I hope everyone is having a great weekend! I am still behind o nthe present making front...:ohwell:0
-
So the chocolate party was fun but not very many people that I invited were able to come. However I have had two friends that couldn't come say that they would host a party for Trish. The chocolate was yummy too! Especially the chocolate covered cinnamon dusted almonds. As Trish called them "crack" because they have a "crack like addiction". I do got to say that having the chocolate tasting party gave me some motivation to go exercise so that was three days this week of exercising.
Nicole~You can do it! My hubby always draws pictures for people for Christmas and he always gets a late start (when I say a late start I mean the week of Christmas  )and he somehow always finishes them in time.0 -
Katie- I am glad that you had fun...I have always had trouple getting alot of people to parites like that....it sounds yummy though!
I sure hope I can get the presents sewed before Christmas!0 -
