Adjusting calories with basis tracker?

Hi everyone,

I recently had a fitbit force, but returned it due to the rash issue. What I really enjoyed about it was that it synced to myfitnesspal and would adjust calories based on how active I had been.

I know use Basis as my fitness tracker, and the only downside is that it doesn't sync with My Fitness Pal. Does anyone have a trick to adjusting calories? Overall I consider myself sedentary, but I'm trying to make the push for getting in my 10,000 steps and would like to acknowledge the additional calories I could consume because of it.

Any thoughts? I don't mind manually adding them, but I'd like an idea of what the formula should be.

I returned my Fitbit Force and switched to Basis. You can set your Fitness Goals in the settings in My Fitness Pal. That will establish your daily net calories GOAL. I do a manual adjustment by going to Exercises. I created a cardiovascular exercise called My Basis activity adjustment. I saved it as 60 minutes = 600 calories. For example, my MFP daily goal is 1500 calories (a 500 calorie per day deficit for losing 1 lb per week in the Fitness Goals). So at the end of the day if My Basis tracker says I burned 2500 calories then I calculate the adjustmement 2500 Basis calories -1500 Goal -500 calorie weight loss daily deficit = 500 calorie negative adjustment. Then I enter the exercise "My Basis Activity Adjustment" as 50 minutes = 500 calories which gives me the extra 500 calories negative adjustment just like the FitBit would give you. Only thing is the FitBit would adjust periodically throughout the day. So to summarize: your BASIS negative calorie adjustment = BASIS measured calories for the day - your MFP goal calories - your desired daily weight loss calorie deficit. Your desired daily weight loss calorie deficit is calculated as 500 calories/day for every 1 lb per week you want to lose. Hope that helps.
