Vivofit Calorie burn question

I've had my vivofit for a week now and I'm loving it. Even more than when I used my BodyMedia Armband, I think. Anyway, I'm confused about the calorie burn... I wear a HRM for my runs and workouts and it seems as though when I go on certain pages of connect it doesn't acknowledge the calories it says I burned during the activity (usually in the active calories graphs is where I notice this.) I'm not sure if I'm just not getting the concept of those graphs or how its making sense of the data? For example - today I did walk;run intervals for about 45 mins w/HRM and it says I burned 422C, later in the day I did JM Body Rev Phase 1 wo 1 - and it says I burned 924 calories (which totally seems off btw) but if I look at the total calories graph on Connect it says 569 are my total activity calories, 2096 is my total, and my BMR is 1527... I don't understand and my BMR for other days where I did less exercise was higher, which doesn't make sense... does it? Thanks in advance for any help!

I have a vivofit too and I've been confused about the same stuff...it's hard to read their graphs...The first day it was telling me crazy calorie burns but since then it's gotten more consistant. I'm not sure if it's learning our routine or what?0

Care to look me up so I can see your stuff - on Garmin Connect as ..... drumroll ..... heybales.
Just make request to share and I can view more of your stuff. Curious too how different it is from the normal site, which is also getting an upgrade.0 -
HeyB - done!
Audra - feel free to connect with me on Garmin connect as well – I am looking for more connections so I can stay motivated… 3Rmomma is my screen name.0 -
Well, sadly one part I kinda expected was the case - only get to view workouts, not that flakiness you are talking about.
And yes, that one JM workout is screwed up calorie estimate.
Has correct lower avgHR, no drop-outs, ect.
I'd frankly email that to support, 2 links comparing that one and another one, asking if common problem, and how would you know if the variance hadn't been so extreme to notice, what if it was only 150 off but still inflated.0 -
There are some major issues with the software that garmin is aware off. Check out the garmin forums / vivofit for many of the same issues you are having. Also, if you haven't, read this. It's the most comprehensive review yet!

The vivofit is great and once the software bugs are worked out nothing will be able to touch it.0
