The # on the scale...who cares?!

So, I just ran 14 minutes straight without stopping at 4.5 mph. It equaled a little over a mile. This may not seem like much, but a year ago, I was lucky I could run 2 minutes without stopping at even slower. If you are worried that you can't do it, YOU CAN. I'm telling you, if you have that determination, you can. It'll change your body and your mind when you push yourself. I have been a slave to the scale my whole weightloss, but when you are 20 pounds from a healthy weight, you can't rely on that anymore. You have to rely on how the body is changing. And I can tell you, this picture for is proof. The picture before is after I'd already lost 50 pounds. The picture after is only another 6-8 pounds later BUT I started running and doing weight training. It's amazing how our bodies can transform when we commit to it!!! I am not perfect and I'm not winning a fitness pageant any time soon, but I'm so much further than I ever thought I'd be. I'm lucky I have friends and family members who always make me push and push and the knowledge to help me whenever I ask. Go out there and get yours!

WTG! You look great!! I am a slow runner, too (4.4 mph on treadmill), but I never thought I would be able to run, either. I am in the last week of c25k and it is still amazing to me what my body can do.0

Why do you think you can't rely on the scale once you're less than 20 pounds overweight?0
