Hi everyone!
I'm turning to the web for some much needed support in my weight loss goals. My biggest down fall (I believe) is not being able to deal with stress. I'm a planner, I love to cook healthy foods, and I rally with the support of friends and family in almost any situation. But if my plan steps ONE toe out of place, everything else falls apart, and I'm SCREWED!
I *think* I need to learn to deal with the unforeseen better, and not eat when I get stressed. If you've had experience with this, let me know. I need all the help I can get!

Use the tools provided here, be honest with yourself - chart everything and watch your patterns. Once you learn yourself and your body, well things just keep getting easier. This is the first time I have been empowered to do this on my own! I am eating as unprocessed, low sodium as I can and the weight is slowing chipping off. You can do this -- if you have to eat your stress do it with a half a baked potato, an ounce of chicken, and some carrots. You will get the same results, not gain weight and feel better. I know it sounds insane for me to say that, but it works! Learning how to cope with bad eating habits, and changing them is what it is all about.
A great work out when I am stressed usually takes the cravings away. I get that there is sooooo much snow, and it is cold there, but you can work out with bands inside for a decent burn. (I spent most of my life in Iowa....brrrrrrr)0 -
Be kinder to yourself and go with the flow. Only thing that is consistent in life is change. Learn to embrace it. Wasn't it John Lennon who said "Life is what happens when you're making other plans." When you hold on too tightly, you sometimes miss the gems that come your way when the winds of change come in. :flowerforyou:0

I'm from WI too! Grew up in Green Lake, then lived in Green Bay for my undergrad, and then Fond du Lac for work. Then...I lived in MKE for the last 2-3 years! Now I'm in FL...but you'll find TONS of support here!
I know people make fun of WI for being an "overweight" state...but you know what?...the south is wayyyyy worse! You represent in WI0 -
I'm in the Wauwatosa area. I just set up my profile, so send me a quick message if you're interested in working out. I have a VERY high energy puppy that needs exercise as well, so if you're a dog lover, all the better.0
