Eating out question

Hi. I have been eating healthier for about 3 weeks now. Each Friday night we go out to dinner and I try to pick something fairly healthy. This is the only meal I eat out per week. Anyways each time we have eaten out, I have gotten home and had a really bad stomach issue, that requires sitting on the toilet for an extended period of time, LOL! Anyways - I am wondering if this is because my body has gotten used to smaller and healthier meal choices and it is rebelling when I overindulge. Is there any validity to my theory?

On another note - we ate at Village Inn tonight and I ordered the grilled chicken swiss avacado sandwich with a side salad and ranch dressing. Thought I was making a good choice. That is until I got home and plugged my meal into MFP. Wow! Over 1000 calories and now I am almost 500 points over my daily calorie goal. Guess this is why it is important to get the nutrition information before orderring, huh?

Yes, getting the info in advance is good when you can - but not possible for everywhere you go, sometimes you just have to wing it and sometimes you have to guesstimate.

And sometimes you end up going over your allowance - as long as it is not too often or by too much, you will be ok.

Eat a little bit less on other days and it will even out.

For several months I did the 5-2 fasting diet. That is where you limit yourself to 600 calories on two non-consecutive days per week. When we ate out on my low calorie days, I found that grilled fish or shrimp with steamed veggies were the lowest calorie things you could find. I am amazed at how many calories a restaurant salad have. They were often close to my daily limit by themselves. I'm not doing the 5-2 thing anymore, but it helped me lose about 35 pounds in 6 months.

    Definitely research first :)

I wouldn't think that in three weeks your body would be so adjusted already. And, if anything, I find that after months of being healthy, my body is better prepared to deal with "junk" and it doesn't suffer any negative effects.
