Eat more healthy fats!

Hey guys!

When I began my weight loss 'journey' I cut calories but I also rarely meet my fat macro; it was often less than 10 grams a day and I was always hungry not matter the amount of protein or fiber I ate. Now that I have started eating more health fats (mono, poly etc) from coconut oil, pb, yoghurt etc I feel soo much better, my appetite has decreased and my period has come back! My skin also has a bit of a glow to it (yay)

Just thought this may help someone! I wish I realized this earlier..:)

So true! I set my fat macro at 40% for this reason and it's been working for me so far. I am satiated.

Just thought I'd mention coconut oil is about 92% saturated fat and not unsaturated.....

Nothing wrong with sat fats. The only fats to avoid are trans fats.

Monounsaturated yes, polyunsaturated on the other hand I would recommend that they represent about 2% of your total calories. Basically mono's, then saturated then poly's.

coconut oil is good for you. it raises your metabolism, its the only saturated fat thats a medium chain fatty acid so it doesn't turn to fat in your body and gets processed immediately and it doesn't stick to your artery's. i put it in my coffee, bake with it, use it for stir fry, put it in smoothies, use it in place of mayo and butter and have not gained weight.

Agreed coconut oil is great for you. Sat fats in general are not bad and one thing they definitely do not do is stick to your artery's.

In fact on a low carb diet high in sat fat has been shown to reduce the triglycerides in the blood system (eat fat to lose fat).

I don't even look at my fat number. Normally my sources of fat are from nuts, avocados, cheese and olive oil.

Yeah you have a good point... My fat is low because I just don't like foods with fat as much as foods with carbs. Sigh.
