HELP! I've 24 hours to choose a tattoo!!!!

Its Mothers day here in the uk tomorrow and one of my daughters is a tattoo artist and Ive just been told I have 24 hours to decide whats shes tattooing on me for Mothers day tomorrow !

Argh! Im so indecisive and picky... suggestions pleeeeeeeeeeeeeease!

    haha, no. that's typically what lower back tattoos are referred to. :drinker:

    i wouldn't chose a tattoo in such a short timeframe, and i most certainly wouldn't ask strangers on the internet.

    but since you did... i'd get the initials of your kid(s) somewhere.

    Initials or name of your kid(s) and/or their date of birth(s). I rather like the idea of having them tattooed around an ankle, with some kind of vine wrapped around the text, all around the ankle.

    Nobody can make that decision for you.

    This is something you are going to have on you for life.

    Don't choose lightly, make sure it is something you will want to look at, and be happy to have others look at it.
    Go with one that means something to you, that you can be proud of.

    I've had mine for a few years now and have never been happier, but I thought for way more then 24 hours on it.

    This is something that is going to be with you for life, so you should really choose it yourself. If you want ideas, there are tons of sites that you can look at online to get a sense of what you might like. I personally love the 3D tattoos.

    Look at the tat pictures she has. Perhaps something will catch your eye. Choose something that has meaning for you. I got my first (only so far) right after I got divorced. It represented freedom to me :bigsmile: . Freedom from a 27 yr marriage ( not the best) and freedom because I knew he would have freaked out If I had gotten one while we were married. Thats my story! :laugh:

    I think you need to tell her that you need some time to make a choice rushing into something that is permanent and will be with you forever is just stupid. As a tattoo artist she should know this. There are so many people out there with tatoos they regret

    I agree with all the other posters.

    It's great she wants to do this for you...but don't rush it. Decide if you really even ever wanted one first.

    I know just as many people who hate as love their tattoos.

    I've had one for 15 years. Ready to get a 2nd. In both cases I've taken months to decide (the second not decided yet, but idea is decided). I don't regret the one I have at all, so I consider that time well invested.

    If you send a picture of two options (or more), we can help. Otherwise someone will say skulls and another butterflies.

    Get something that represents what you love, but something you won't get sick of in a few years. Something small in a place you can easily hide if desired, perhaps, as an example only, a small rose on your hip, upper outer thigh or somewhere on your back, possibly in the mid to low area, to consider low backed tops.

    Yeah a tattoo is a lifetime commitment and should not be approached in a "I don't know what I want but I'm getting a tattoo tomorrow" kinda way.
    If you DO decide you want a tattoo, and you decide what you'd like...think about it for a good long while before you commit.

    Choosing the right font can make or break a tattoo, i have one on my thigh and the font was the last piece i chose... take some time looking through word and see what catches your eye for what your going to use it for! Good luck!

    Whilst they can be removed its still a pretty pricey procedure. And they still struggle to get some colours out. Black ink is the easiest to remove & green/blue the hardest ones. Maybe just stick to something in black in case you don't like it in the future.
