Let's say i bought a pack of sliced bread which is not in the system. Obviously i need to create a new food.
Let's say I want to eat a slice of this bread for my breakfast.
The whole pack is 400g. The bread has 299 calories per 100grams. One slice wieghs 27 grams.
Please tell me what do I enter for serving size, and servings per container, so next time when i decide to eat two or more slices of this bread the app does the calorie calculation automatically. Thank you

I would be inclined to make 1 serving 100 grams and then weigh the bread before you eat it.0

Thank you... Makes sense... Hadnt thought of it
but it means whatever food i might want to enter it would always have to be 100g serving size and 1 servings per container.
But why did they create these two boxes (serving size, servings per container) in the first place...? It is very confusing... It should've been 'serving size, only.... And then nutritions per 100grams...
Am i wrong?0 -
Inside the metric system calories are stated per 100 grams. So, to avoid having to calculate calories per serving (and you may prefer more or less than suggested on the container), it's most logical to enter values per 100 grams into the database. But sometimes it's most useful to have a certain serving size, like when every slice really is 27 grams. I used to scream every time I had to change quantities in "my foods", from 100 grams to 1 gram, and then number of grams that was always the same! But... then I realized that under "recent" and "frequent" tabs all items by default have the same quantity that I used last time. And now I'm happy again0

Also, if it is entered as 100 grams when you choose that food to log, you can enter a percentage. IOW, if a slice of that bread is 37g, then enter .37 (point37) instead of "1" in the amount box. Hope that makes sense.0
