Feeling a little discouraged and depressed.

So I had a really rough week. Car accident, stress with school, and trying to get to the gym. Yesterday it all built up and finally exploded and I binged pretty badly throughout the day. At least 8000+ calories. I usually never binge but again this stressful week didn't help. I weigh 140 lbs and I go to the gym 6 days a week training in mma for 3+ hours and I have a very clean diet. I'm just wondering how much damage I did And how much weight I have gained? I feel really gross and depressed today. Also how should I compensate ? Should I not eat today? Thanks. :frown:

Should you not eat? Um no lol. You have to eat. Not eating anything at all is just as bad as eating way to much. All you can do is just pick yourself back up, brush the dust off and get back on track. The past is in the past. Nothing you can do about it but you are in control of what happens on the road ahead.0

Log it accurately & honestly, then move on.
Eat "good" (whatever that means to you) 80% of the time. Fit yummy, portion-controlled treats into your calorie goal. Deprivation can lead to bingeing.

If you are working out 3 hours for 6 days a week you can eat like that. Probably be back to where you were by the end of the week. You sure you ate 8000 cus thats a lot in one day. That would have to be like 12 whoppers from bk. Congrats on the weight loss you are pretty thin. You should look into bulking up to build muscle.0

Move on. Drink plenty of water, eat lightly but well, and put it down to experience.0

One day is not going to ruin all your efforts. Move on and continue with whatever you were doing before your "binge" - bad days or weeks are a part of life - the key is to move forward from a bad day and make the next better. Sorry you had a bad week though :frown:
Chin up! You can move past this! :flowerforyou:0 -
Yup, what they said! Make sure you eat enough during the week so that you don't explode!
3 hours of mma 6 days per week is a lot. Make ssure you dont need to divide those 8000 calories throughout the week to fuel your body and workouts.
Either way.. With that sort of exersice, its a drop in the bucket. Forget and move on, next time you feel the urge, remember how you feel right now. Keep on keepin on0 -
One bad day isn't going to destroy all your hard work. All you can do now is accept it and move on.0

if you are training that hard, I would not worry about it..
log it, own it, and move on ….

Look at why it happened. Do you have a history of binging to cope with stress? Look at developing better coping mechanisms. If you really ate about 8000 calories, according to the maths you won't have gained more than about 2 lbs of fat from this. Since you're training hard, a little could be muscle. And although I'm no physiology expert so could be wrong, I suspect that if you eat that all in one go your body won't have digested all of it properly anyway. Either way, it's not the end of the world, you haven't ruined your progress. Don't beat yourself up over this, use it as a learning experience.0 -
Just work harder at your next exercise!
Tack on a few extra workout routines - You will be able to burn off the 8,000 calories!
Never Give Up! Trust me
Hope you have a better week0 -
Every body has their moments. Just move ahead as planned, and you'll be fine. Don't consider an off day a failure.0
