I am 44, currently size 20 and been doubting whether or not I am capable of losing weight without some sort of intervention. Seeing cbeevs post (and the people who responded to it) gave me such a feeling of hope. I'm a teacher and a mother of 3(20, 16, 10) and I want to be around for my kids. The last time I weighed myself I was about 230. I don't want to weigh myself anymore, either. My daughter and I took our measurements at the beginning of the year (sigh), and I was hoping that by now I would have made some progress. Nope. But, I'm not quitting. Anyway, everyone's responses to cbeevs helped me feel hopeful.

Don't give up, large changes can be achieved through small steps. Just start making concrete changes in your life that you can live with, and this will snowball on its own. I have gone from 238 to 205 in 6 months with very minor changes to my lifestyle and minimal increase in exercise. More than happy to help support you if you would like0
